While calming down Los Xavier told Zaril'n to get up and have breakfast since they'd be heading out in a few minutes. Zaril'n did as told, but he felt a tug in his chest since he didn't get to feed the horse.
After ten minutes Zaril'n was led back to Xavier, he and all the other children. Everyone came to see both off.
" Did you all eat?"
" Yes!"
" And Zaril'n helped us clean up," a few of the children announced.
Xavier glanced at Zaril'n then brought his gaze back to the children.
" Well I'll be leaving now," Xavier announced.
"I really wanted to come, it's going to be so much fun,"
Zaril'n noticed how they were all bright with happiness and joy.
" You even got your sword Xavier, are you expecting a fight?" Alex asked already knowing the answer.
" Well I'm just being prepared,"
The children gave Zaril'n a look of great jealousy. Usually when Xavier was going to the market he would take one or two of them at a time. And when Xavier was all suited up with his sword, it meant he might fight, and better yet, he might use his Devine gift.
Suddenly Father appeared, all the children greeted with a small bow.
" I see that you're ready to go out Xavier," noted Father smoothly.
" Yes Father, I meant to notify you, but you weren't here, I did leave a note," Xavier explained.
" You know you don't have to, you're a good boy and I know when your harvest is ready," Father said calmly with his gentle look and kind glowing features.
" Yes Father,"
" Did you pray?"
" I did,"
Father smiled moving to the horse to rub its head.
" Los seems ready to go as usual," Father said with a smile.
Los the horse started tapping her hoofs and moving her head around.
" Oh dear. It's been almost three years, but Los still hasn't taken a liking to me," Father then chuckled putting his hands away. " Forgive me Los," Father apologized with kinds eyes at the horse.
" Sorry Father,"
" It's okay, I guess even after three years she still hasn't taken this church as her home. But safe travel boys," Father added with a smile.
The children happily with a hint of jealousy told Zaril'n were to sit and where he should hold onto. Including what he must and mustn't do. Soon it built up into a bicker as they all did different things when traveling.
Not long after Xavier and Zaril'n were off.
Zaril'n has never left the church before and the sight was breathtaking, the wind blowing on his skin and his hair standing up, the sight of a field of green grass, birds in the sky, trees in the distance, the sun shining brightly, there was so much, so much he didn't know. He wanted to ask Xavier, but he knew better than not to trouble this grumpy human boy.
For the first time Zaril'n didn't mind the sun.
" This feels nice," Zaril'n thought closing his eyes with a wide heartily smile.
" What's wrong with him?" Xavier thought taking a quick look.
Xavier watched Zaril'n from the corner of his eye as the boy stood up and opened out his arms, instead of warning him Xavier had the cart's wheel ran over a stone which caused Zaril'n the lose balance. But before he fell Xavier used his Devine gift using water to catch Zaril'n.
Zaril'n landing finding himself on water, then he looked the Xavier who wasn't even looking at him. The water balanced Zaril'n back to his seat before falling to the ground with a splat.
" Thank you," Zaril'n said trying to shake off some of the water, he shook his hands and head and rang parts of his clothes out, being at the church he had picked up some washing techniques.
Xavier secretly watched wondering what boy with his nature would say 'thank you',
" You're really playing in character well," Xavier thought his eyes back on the round as his grip tightened around the reigns.
" Little evil bastard," Xavier cursed in his head.
They both continued with their journey, Zaril'n gawked at everything he saw and Xavier was on guard continuously checking his surroundings.
After tree hours of riding which they also took a small stop the feed Los and give him some water. They were resting on a not so high hill, and Zaril'n saw human settlement in the distance. He saw houses of all sizes in view.
" It's a Human Floor!" Zaril'n blurted standing up.
" A what now?" Xavier asked lifting and eyebrow in which Zaril'n repeated himself.
" Would be please sit your ass down, the next time you trip I'm not catching you!"
" Oh,"
Finally they rode into the town Zaril'n watched as people shouted and pointed, children ran around, some selling stuff. There was a sweet aroma of spices, meat, greens and wood. So many smells in one place, so many smells he did not know.
Zaril'n watched without knowledge at everything, he wanted to ask so many questions, but with Xavier he felt reluctant to, maybe when he reach home he could ask Alex and the others.
Xavier tied Los to a post and had Zaril'n help with loading off the crates. Xavier entered a store called ' More Than Just Greens'
" Mr. Cob!?" Xavier called loud, but polite.
" Xavier! Is that you!?" a voice responded from somewhere.
A tall but chubby man emerged from around the corner wiping his hands, he wore a smile and emitted a friendly presence.
" Good morning Sir,"
" Good morning Xavier," the man chuckled. " What you got for me today now?"
" Cabbages, lettuces, and Mint,"
" Oh no Xavier," Mr. Cob started while scratching his head. " I do apologize boy, but the thing is I didn't know you would be coming and you also arrive later than usual. With that being said I already bought vegetables already," the man explained.
" Oh I understand," was what Xavier responded with, he was disappointed, but there was nothing he could do. So he hid his disappointment.
" But hear what boy. You got any herbs with you?"
" Yes, but I did bring two crates,"
" Tell you what, I'll take them both,"
Xavier felt much better as he left for the crates. As he reached the cart he saw that Zaril'n had stoop down in the cart's shadow. He bent there silently recording everything mentally.
Xavier didn't say anything simply taking both crates and leave. It only took about five minutes when he returned from securing his pay.
" Two coins and eight shells," Xavier sighed thinking about the pay. "I guess I should be thankful," he then thought.
Zaril'n was still in the shadows from the cart, he was so curious to look around, but with Xavier he knew best not to.
" Hey kid!" a voice called with mischief.
" Huh?" Zaril'n had been so caught up in his mind he didn't notice when a few children had approach him. Looking up he saw three boys.
" So aren't you going to say anything?" the shorter boy asked with a smirk and his arms crossed.
" Umm, it's nice meeting you?" came Zaril'n's odd response.
