The rain didn't stop.
It kept falling hard against the tent. For some reason, it felt ominous. Like a scary combination of chaos and mystery.
I was still sitting on the bed when Allen suddenly stood up.
I looked at him, hoping to understand why the sudden movement. I stared at him intently and I noticed that his form was tense and his body stood at alert.
What's going on?
His whole body changed. Like it was ready to go into battle. I looked around, trying to figure out if I was missing anything.
He looked around the room slowly, his eyes scanning every corner like he was searching for something.
"What is it?" I asked.
He didn't answer.
That alone only worsened my anxiety.
"Allen?" I called again.
He moved a few steps forward, then stopped.
"Something isn't right," he said quietly.
