Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

ALETHEA'S POV

I have watched the way my pack trains; they are always using their wolf side. They don't know proper combat with their human side, which is why Ava can't beat me. 'Fucking bitch,' she cursed for the tenth time as I dodged her attack and landed a punch at her face. 'Shit,' I said, cursing as my dad's wolf clawed my arm, looking at the blood rolling down my right arm. I sent a kick to his face, making him take a few steps backwards. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Ava make a stupid attack to kick me, but I was faster. Grabbing ahold of her leg, I twisted it at an odd angle. Screaming, she cried as I let go of her leg. Quit being a baby; you will heal. Unlike me, the blood won't stop flowing. 'Thea, run!' my grandmother held my left hand and ran. I don't know how she beat my mom or dad, but who cares? Holding the bag, I ran with my grandmother behind me. "We are almost out of the border," I shouted. 'Alethea, I love you, baby.' What the hell? I stopped and turned and saw my grandmother way back, wanting to go back. 'Don't you dare come here! Go and live your life, please, for me, baby.' The first tear fell from my eye, then the next, and soon I was pouring out rain. I watched as my grandmother did everything in her power to hold them off.... 'GRANNY!!!!' I screamed as my dad plucked out her heart with cold eyes. The last thing she said was "run," and that I did. I ran so fast, dodging the arrows they were now shooting, but wasn't so lucky, as one stuck in my left leg. I held back the cry and continued running. They won't chase me out of the border, at least not now. They need permission or to recharge. Crossing the border, I looked back and saw my grandmother's lifeless eyes staring at me; that will haunt me forever.

It is morning now; I have at least been walking for 7 hours. It is a miracle that no rogue could smell my blood and come for me. Sitting on the ground, I rested my back on a tree. Sighing, I remembered that the only person who cared for me is gone. 'Moonlight Pack, I am going to destroy that pack, but not like this,' I thought as I opened the bag that she packaged for me. I took the orange scarf that she bought for me, holding back the tears that threatened to pour. I stood up from the ground, spinning, shaking my head. I carried the bag, my hand and leg wrapped to stop the bleeding. I need to make my way to the human world. 'I will be safe there.' I used the trees for support as I limped. 'Fucking hell,' I cursed as my body crashed on the ground; my stomach grumbled, reminding me I haven't eaten in a day now. I stared at the sky, silently praying to the moon goddess that she take my life. I don't think I can do it anymore. I lay on the floor staring at the sky silently, deciding on the craziest thing ever, and I fell asleep.

'Do you think she is alive?' a man asked.

'I don't know; she is hardly breathing,' it was another man that said. I can hardly process anything as I lie there staring at them with my half-tired eyes as I pass out. My eyes shut as I felt someone's hands on my thighs; using my right knee, I hit him in his face. Jumping out of the bed, I looked down to see that my clothes were still intact. 'Thank you, moon goodness,' I prayed. 'Who the hell are you?' I yelled, grabbing the scissors I saw. 'We saved you from being eaten,' he replied, but that is not the answer I want. Looking at the door behind him, I can try to get to it. As if the moon's goodness and luck had vanished from the body, two men built like the first man came in. They are all looking at me like their meal. 'No fucking way,' I spat. 'Yes way, baby, we saved you, and now you will pay for the treatment,' the one to the first one's right said, licking his disgusting lips. I'd rather die than let these fuckers touch me, looking at the window. I did another crazy thing for the second time today. 'I wouldn't do that if I were you.' This time it was the third one. Your wounds have not healed, and we need you first; then you can die.... Not caring about what he was saying, I jumped, breaking the window. 'Let go, you motherfucker,' I spat, trying to remove my hair from the first guy's grip. 'You are pretty, but what a rude mouth... fuck,' he screamed as I stabbed him with the scissors in my hands. Letting me go, I fell on the woods on the floor; my back hurts like hell, but I am leaving this place no matter what. I looked around me; it doesn't look like I am close to the moonlight pack, but where am I? It didn't matter, as I ran into the forest with the three men hot on my trail. 'You can't run forever, sweetheart,' they shouted, laughing. I don't want to die in the hands of those madmen. I felt a warm liquid roll down the side of my face; no doubt my blood must have happened when I fell down. My left leg makes it harder for me to run, with the pain of my right hand and now my head. I need at least a week to heal from all these. I don't know what happened, but I was pushed to the ground. Holding back the groan, I looked at the first guy, and he was holding my two hands above my head. The pain was unbearable as the tears came down. 'Where did all your bravado go to?' he asked, using his free hand to roughly grab my chin to look at him. 'Found her,' he told his other folks. 'Is it just me, or does it feel like we have crossed into another world?' 'Shit, the last thing I want is to be found in another pack.' I struggled to break free, forgetting the pain it caused. My right cheek burns; I am sure he left his prints on my face. Everything happened too fast; the man next to me, his... head... is gone. 'Ah!!!' I screamed and pushed his headless body from me; his dirty blood splashed on my face. 'Alpha, we are sorry; we didn't know that we were on your land,' the second guy said. I haven't seen my savior's and soon-to-be killer's face, but I must say he has a nice back as he stood in front of me. His muscles stretched that thin shirt. Looking down, 'Nice ass,' I thought, chuckling. I watched as his back tensed up. He didn't look at me too badly. I won't get to see his face because I think I am about to pass out again. 'Alpha! What should I do with them?' I don't care about the second guy; my focus is on the hot-ass guy that I am dying to see. ' Take them to the dungeon; I will deal with them later.' Holy mother of the moon, goodness, his voice is deep and masculine. I think I could melt away. 'Thank you so much for saving me, but I need to go,' I said, standing and regretting my decision as I saw the ground closer. Preparing for the floor, large—I mean large—hands held my body from falling. The sparks I felt were me thinking, "It's not possible." I am proved wrong as my savior's face stared at me; he was... gorgeous, beautiful, handsome, and charming. I don't anymore, but I know two things for sure. One, this man was the most handsome guy I have ever seen, and secondly, he was my mate. ''Mate,'' he growled, gripping me so tightly that it hurt as my body crashed on his as I passed out again.
