Chapter 14 - 14: Losers Core

Varney

"What?" I cried out, watching as the girl rolled her eyes before stepping forward.

"Don't sound so shocked, you're cute, snc I wonder what that dick can do. You find me attractive, don't you? Everyone thinks I'm hot." She drawled, grinning and batting her lashes at me just as she placed her palm over my chest.

I felt awkward, coughing in discomfort as I shook my head.

"I don't wanna… do that with you. Can you take your hands off me?" I asked and she rolled her eyes before pushing my back against the wall, pressing her body firmly against mine. Panic whirled within me and I grabbed her wrist, jerking her away from me.

A spitting second passed, then she let out an ear splitting scream that had me stiffening, especially as the fairy's voice began to wash over me.

"Oh my gosh, creep! He just tried to force himself on me!" She cried out dejectedly and her once giggling friends who just witnessed all that happened, gathered around her and began to scream along with her.

I was frozen in shock just as a mountain of a guy arrived almost immediately, and she flew into the guy's arms while sobbing.

"He touched me, baby. I told him I didn't want it, but he didn't listen, and he— he tried to—" as she spoke through sobs, the guy faced me, a sharp look in his narrowed eyes and I paled, throwing my hands up fast.

"Wait, this is a mix up! I didn't touch her and she's lying along with her friends!" I cried out just as my darted around. A few people were staring and I was certain they all knew I was being honest right now, but they didn't say anything.

The boyfriend of the lying fairy stalked towards me and grabbed my shirt, yanking me off the ground.

"My girl dosent ever lie." He growled right into my face before a punch got thrown into my stomach.

The guy didn't go easy. He didn't even consider that I clearly look so weak, and by the time he finished beating me up, I was too weak to stand and it felt like I had broken my ribs. I coughed out blood just as the guy walked off, leaving his girlfriend and her friends behind.

She stood in front of me, her hands folded as she stared down at me. "Do you know why I chose to teach you a lesson just now?" She asked and as I scowled at her, I badly wished I could retaliate.

"Cause you're such a weird looking human." She revealed and her friends laughed.

But that made no sense to me. She was that bothered my me?

I remained in the same position after the girl and her friends walked off, and after what felt like forever, I pushed off the ground, so much pain shooting through every inch of my entire body.

I dragged myself over to the cafeteria, each step hurting so fucking bad.

I sighted the group of humans I survived last night's test with and my entire mood instantly brightened and I walked towards their table when they eagerly waved me over.

"Why are you limping?" One of them asked just as I took my seat and I grimaced.

"A weirdo lied that I touched her and her boyfriend beat me up." I sighed out, wincing I breathed.

They all shook their heads in sympathy. "Damn, the guy must have done a number on you. Avoid him next time." Another human offered and I huffed.

Of course I'd do just that. I don't need to be told twice.

"While at it, avoid all the alphas of every supernatural class in this school, they're all strong and won't need much to harm us weak humans." The first guy spoke and they all nodded in agreement.

"I'll keep that in mind." I breathed out, scrubbing a hand over my face which felt swollen from the beating I got.

"Especially the blackbird, if you wanna survive in here."

My eyes widened as I glanced up at them.

That was the male lead, the person who I still ran into today.

"Of course, very important." I breathed out fast while nodding my head.

"I saw you run into him on our first day." The third guy supplied and my face flushed in embarrassment.

"Has he… punished you since then?" The first guy asked and I blinked in confusion as I slowly shook my head.

"Heard he doesn't take long to punish people who annoy him, and since he's basically the strongest person in this school, no one can oppose or stand against him." The first guy pointed out and a shiver rolled down my spine.

My mind returned back to what the principal told me yesterday in his office.

"This is weird though. Why is a student allowed to do whatever he wants like that? Can't the school stop him from doing any of that?" I asked and they all exchanged looks before bursting into laughter.

"Well, perhaps because this isn't a normal school for one." The fourth human pointed out before sighing and slumping.

"If I knew the school was this weird, I would not have come."

The first guy nodded, his mouth in a thin line. "Same. I thought it was a normal school. My parents literally celebrated my scholarship with a party, only for me to arrive here and be forced to partake in a weird game, and now we're the dorm's slaves."

"And so far, it's so dangerous in here. And creepy. Not everyone who partook in the game last night returned and there's no one to go to with the observation cause they won't listen to any complaints from a human." The third guy pointed out.

I let out a long sigh while my mind wandered, my stomach clenching in nerves. Last night's game was the scariest thing ever and I still don't understand how I survived. I want to ask these guys if they were also bitten by a vampire but I hesitated on remembering the leader's warning to keep that conversation a secret.

I decided to keep that to myself for now. Perhaps if I can grow to trust them, I'll be able to confide in them like I want to right now.

"Anyways, a few students gave us a list of people to be wary of and to completely avoid and that's what we're basically repeating to you. Avoid every alpha, avoid everyone in the platinum dorm— cause they are royalty and all of them are brutal, and they basically run the school with their influences."

I nodded, noting all that In my head. "Alright, noted. Anything else?"

"Avoid the blackbird no matter what. In fact, I believe you've already offended him yesterday, so what you need to do is to hope that he'd not choose to harm you. Or if he does hurt you, that he at least spares your life."

I stiffened as those words washed over me, wondering if I should point out that I also ran into him today. Which would mean that I've undoubtedly worsened my crime even more.

Oh heavens…

My mind traveled to his shirt which he left with me yesterday.

"What if I return his shirt to him and apologise properly while at it?" I asked and they all looked at me like I've grown two heads.

"Are you crazy? That would entail entering the platinum dorms and that's like walking into one's death."

My mouth opened and closed with no sound coming out.

"It's bad to go there?" I finally asked while staring at all of them.

"As a human, of course. You can tell they really hate humans here."

I stored that away in my head as well, feeling relieved to be having this conversation with them right now, else who else would have given me all this warnings like they all did just now?

We introduced ourselves shortly anger that.

The first guy was Jared. He was the tallest of the bunch. About six feet tall. His hair was black and fell into his face.

The second guy was average height, named Cyrus. He had a of head full of brown hair.

The third guy was Gregg. About five foot ten, and straight black hair. He's definitely the loudest after the first.

The fourth guy was Evan. He was pretty short like me, and his hair was blond. He was also the most quiet of the bunch.

As we went to get some food from the servers here in the cafe where the food was also thankfully free, my mind kept whirling and I kept wondering how I'm supposed to make it up to Knox so he'd not kill me.

We had barely sat back in our table before a very familiar person was looming over us, his hands folded and his eyes filled with disgust.

"Oh look, the losers are hanging out together.

I let out a sigh, shooting him a flat look. "Leave us alone, Landon." I muttered tiredly.

"Your jealousy is stinking. You're jealous and bitter cause I won and you didn't." Landon sang song and I huffed in frustration.

"Do you know him from outside here?" Evan asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, he's—"

"No one! We don't know each other outside here!" Landon cut me off fast, glaring hard at me.

I rolled my eyes in irritation. If he doesn't want me telling people we're brothers then what's the point of him approaching me?

"I was the only one to win last night without a single scratch on my body, cause I was smart enough to seduce one of those guys that chased us." He drawled haughtily, his head held high.

"Well, Landon, you might not have noticed but not everyone is a whore like you."
