Leon's Pov:
As expected, Ava wasn't in her room the next morning.
I knocked on her door with absolutely nothing planned to say. I just wanted to see her and make everything better.
Finding her room empty broke me. I messed up and needed to fix it.
I didn't go to work or exercise. I just sat on my bed looking at our texts. I wanted to send a message but I had no idea what to say. I didn't want to ask Pearl for help either, so I couldn't do anything but sit and pray that she would come home.
After an hour, I managed to get out of bed to take a shower. I went down to eat after.
I heard the door open. It was Ava.
I stood up with so much speed that I almost tripped.
"Ava." I felt like a kid praying for his mother's acceptance.
"Hey." Her voice was low. I could tell she didn't want to speak to me.
"Ava, please."
"I'm going to take a shower, and maybe sleep for a while."
I nodded and tried to respect her decision but deep down, it was killing me.
