"So where are we going grandpa" Raiden asked as he and his grandfather were currently making their way down a very conspicuous flight of stairs..
Stairs that Raiden didn't even know existed till now..
After getting over the ridiculousness of his two traits, his grandfather pulled him over and boom, he found himself descending down a suspicious flight of stairs..
"Hahaha.. little brat, what's going on in that head of yours?" His grandfather asked, almost as if he could see the gears turning in his grandson's head…
"I'm just saying, first you almost lose your soul after finding out about my awesome traits, then now all of a sudden, we find ourselves walking down suspicious steps… I mean I love you, but naw, this be looking real sus" Raiden spoke matter of factly..
"Where did you even learn to speak like that?" Aaron asked curiously, amused..
"On the net" came Raiden's reply..
"Well stop, that'll corrupt your brain" his grandfather chastised playfully…
They all laughed, soft, relaxed…
"Well as for your question, we're currently headed towards the foundation of our agares family" his grandfather, Aaron, said..
"Foundation?" Raiden asked..
"Yes my boy" Aaron replied, "what do you think makes up the majority of a family's strength?" He asked instead of elaborating..
"That'll be their foundational techniques, sure, talent and hard work matter, but without the foundational techniques for both aura refinement and mana refinement, All one would get, would be sub par results, monsters without any fangs" Raiden answered back immediately..
"Good" Aaron nodded calmly, "now tell me what you know about the refinement techniques" he added..
Raiden, realizing his grandfather has gotten into his teacher mode, swiftly replied,
"Refinement techniques, both for aura and mana, are divided into various grades, with each grade granting one, purer and more effective and overall more powerful mana/aura, from lowest to highest, they're classified as,
Common grade techniques, this being something almost anyone awakened can use, can be found on the market with enough resources..
Uncommon grade techniques, this being a bit more rarer than the common techniques, but still wholly available to the populace..
Rare grade techniques, these are mostly unavailable on public markets due to their high value and rarity, mostly found within lower noble families as their foundational techniques..
Epic grade techniques, these techniques are capable of causing conflict whenever they appear, majorly monopolized by mid grade forces and noble bloodlines as their foundational techniques and source of strength..
Legendary grade techniques, these are almost impossible to find, they're are said to be so rare, that should one appear, kingdoms go to war just to obtain them, a single legendary grade technique can raise a family from mediocrity to formidable status…
Mythic grade techniques, as in the name, they're known as only hearsay's, myths whispered by the world at large, techniques said to be capable of reshaping reality at their utmost peak, currently, only the royal family and four ducal houses of the empire are in possession of such techniques and that too, is only known to a very few".. Raiden concluded…
"Very good, you seem to have your history right" Aaron nodded, satisfied..
Taking a right turn as they descended the stairs, he asked again, "so you know the division of tiers as well?"
"From lowest to highest, all techniques are graded into low>mid>high>peak, for all techniques below rhe mythic grade, mythic grade techniques are rated with stars, from the lowest 1-star, to the fabled, 9-star techniques" Raiden concluded…
Nodding once more, he asked "so what's our family's highest technique you know of?"
"That's easy, the blaze emperor's mantle, a 6-star mythic grade technique, located at the highest level of the family's library" Raiden answered…
"Good" Aaron nodded, finally coming to a stop…
In front of them stood massive double doors made of a material Raiden couldn't recognize…
It was black, a black that seemed to draw your soul in and devour you..
"Don't stare" Aaron chided softly..
"Now tell me, Raiden, if a technique is a family's foundation, do you truly believe that we, the agares, would leave our foundational strength, public, known, to be exploited?" Aaron asked..
"This…" Raiden was speechless, because it made perfect sense…
For a family like the agares, though impossibly powerful, they still had their fair share of enemies, be they altheans or even those from other worlds..
There's no way they could leave their enemies with information of what their trump cards were, that too, in a conspicuous location like a library…
"Besides, do you think our family got its name, it's reputation, from a measly 6-star mythic grade technique?" Aaron laughed derisively..
"This..grandpa, you couldn't possibly mean" Raiden was stupefied, even as an agares, he wholeheartedly believed the mythic grade to be the ceiling for techniques, but from his grandfather's words, and the disdain in his voice when calling a 6-star mythic grade technique as measly!!!
He couldn't possibly be implying that..
"Yes, my boy, it is exactly as you're thinking" he laughed, enjoying the stunned expression on his grandson's face..
"The mythic grade is not the highest grade a technique can reach" he cleared the doubt fully…
Raiden was stunned…
Absolutely dumbfounded…
Mythic grade techniques were said to be capable of reshaping reality at their peaks already..
What kind of obscenity would a technique above that even mean?
"I can't say much about HOUSE WELSH or HOUSE BRAVEHEART, but our AGARES FAMILY, HOUSE LIONEL, and THE IMPERIAL FAMILY, built our foundations on techniques that turn men into gods!!" He proclaimed proudly..
"Why else do you think I didn't drag your cousin over here, it's because I know he'll be better suited to the Lionel duchy's techniques more than ours..hehe" he added offhandedly…
"So grandpa, what lies beyond the mythic grade, and what could possibly make them so much more obscene that they make men into gods?" Raiden asked excitedly…
"Behind these doors my boy, behind these doors lie all the answers you'll need"Aaron replied whilst pushing open both doors with an audible creaaak!!!
