Chapter 24 - Arrogant!

Two figures were rapidly moving through the forest, the wind whooshing past their faces.

"Master, are we confident to meet the Volutri head on?" Viktor asked.

Silas smiled, the Volturi? Tsk.

"There's no problem."

Viktor nodded in relief. If the master said it's fine, then it is.

Silas was breathing in the fresh air and feeling the crunch of leaves below his feet.

The smell of dirt, rain, and pine was strong yet soothing.

He leaped from one branch to another and while in mid air, he took a deep breath.

Feeling the cold air gush through his nose into his lungs.

He felt alive, he felt excited about the upcoming fight.

They flashed though the forest at speeds humans couldn't perceive with their naked eye.

"Cessian! Did you contact the master?" Gregor asked.

Cessian turned to look behind him then turned to look at Gregor beside him.

"Yeah, I talked to Viktor and they on the way."

"They said we needed to move towards Port Angeles, they would meet us outside the city."

Gregor nodded.

"Let's speed up."

Cessian nodded in agreement.

Forks.

Cullen house.

Alice was lying on her bed. She might not sleep but a bed is a comfortable thing to have.

She was looking at her phone.

"Silas should've charged his phone by now, right?"

She had been pondering when to call… but she kept pushing it up. She was nervous he wouldn't answer.

But Alice looked at the time and steeled her nerves.

"Let's call." She mumbled to herself as she clicked on his contact.

Ring~

The signal echoed through the room, twice, thrice… after a few more rings.

"The number you are searching is unresponsive, call back later or leave a message after the beep."

Alice ended the call and rolled onto her back. She looked at the roof and felt a little… empty.

Just then there was a knock on the door.

"Alice, have you called Silas yet?" It was Ella outside who wanted to come and check on her.

Alice sat up.

"Yeah."

Ella took that as her cue to walk in.

"Didn't he answer?"

Alice shook her head.

Ella just smiled.

"Don't worry, he is probably doing something important, or maybe he hasn't charged his phone yet."

Alice nodded slightly.

Ella just shook her head and turned to walk out.

"Call him again later, or maybe in the morning."

Alice heard this and laid down on the bed, she raised her phone and looked at his contact information.

Sigh.

"Master, we've arrived." Viktor looked at the clearing they had found in the forest outside Port Angeles.

Silas looked around then said.

"Call Cessian and tell them to hurry here and we will meet the Volturi head on."

Viktor nodded and picked up his phone.

Silas stood there looking around, the levees in the trees were bustling, the late night breeze was refreshing, and smelled nice.

The half moon in the sky shone ambient light into the clearing.

He leaned his head back and took a deep breath. As he did that he moved his feet in place, feeling the soft dirt pooling around his shoes.

He wanted to have a lot of fun tonight. If these Volturi doesn't show, he will be really let down and disappointed.

Just then a sound of breaking through the air was heard.

It was Cessian and Gregor who just entered the clearing. He had felt them long ago, but this was the first time acknowledge it.

He turned his head and looked at them, they were slowly walking over side by side. If you didn't know better it was them chasing the Volturi and not the other way around.

They arrived in front of Silas and knelt down on one knee.

"Master!" x2

Silas nodded.

"Tell me, how many are there and how close are they?"

Cessian raised his head.

"Master, there should be 20 of them, and they are around ten minutes behind us."

Silas nodded.

"You two can get up, let's wait."

And wait they did.

True to their word, after around ten minutes of waiting, a sound of breaking air spread.

At the edge of the clearing 20 red robed individuals arrived.

They were walking slowly and steadily. They probably thought they had this in the bag.

Soon they stopped 30 meters in front of Silas's group.

The Volturi members looked over them, they didn't seem to take them seriously. Why should they? They outnumber us by more than 4 times.

"Hand over the two vampires and we won't pursue this." The Volturi member in front said. He spoke as if killing them was just a waste of his time.

Silas sneered. Viktor and the side felt even more strongly, they are some real idiots talking to the master like that.

Cessian and Gregor stared at the people opposite them in resentment. As long as Silas gave the order they would rush over and fight to the death.

They had been chasing them for so long and now they were disrespecting their master.

Seeing Silas's expression the Volturi guy shook his head then raised his hand.

As he raised his hand the Volturi members behind him got into position.

Then he lowered it. The Volturi members seeing this immediately rushed towards Silas and CO.

Die you arrogant fools.
