Keifer's POV
Jay: "KEIFER"
My world stopped when I heard that, because My jay was calling me by my name after 8 years, I don't know why but tears started forming in my eyes maybe because it is one of the thing I was yearning for all these time, I quickly turned to see Jay was running towards me, I did not realise why.
She suddenly tackled me and we both fell on the ground and she was on me and I held her tightly, Then only I realized that heavy material that fell, She saved me. I couldn't help but smile with tears in my eyes, because she called my name and now she is in my arms, even though it wasn't an ideal situation.
She was clutching my suit in fear and was closing her eyes,
Keifer: "Jay, it's okay nothing happened, We are safe" she opened her eyes slowly
Jay: "Did you get hurt?"
I nodded a no before smiling at her concern.
I think she realised how close in proximity were, because she quickly tried to get up from me with the force she got she was about to fall again but she steadied herself , I too got up slowly and noticed that she scraped her legs while saving me.
Keifer: "Jay you got hurt" I said pointing towards her leg
she looked at it and said, "Its nothing "Â
Keifer: "How it is not nothing"
David and Sara and soon came to the scene and he started shouting at the employees for their carelessness.
I asked for the staff to bring a first kit immediately and they did and I took it from them and was about to move towards her, she moved back a little and it hurt me.
Jay: "She can do it for me" She said pointing at Sara and I nodded trying to cover the hurt in my face and passed it to her and she did it.
Keifer: "I think you should take the day off" I said and she gave me a look
Jay: "It is just a scrape, even kids go to school after this and I am not incompetent to take a day off just for that"
Keifer: "But" she cut me off before I could continue,
Jay : "Just because you are my boss, you don't get to decide for me"
I noticed the hint of old Jay with her stubborn attitude, So I just nodded.
Keifer: "Thanks for saving my life" I said sincerely
Jay: "I would have done it for anyone" she said masking her care which I know still existed at least a little bit for me.
Keifer: "I know you would have but thanks for saving me" I said looking at her.
I thought to myself This thanks wasn't meant for saving me, It was for coming back into my life again before I completely lost myself and I think that maybe she understood a little and she nodded
After sometime, We left the place and went to the office.
I went to my cabin and I was thinking about her, that's when David came in and settled across me
David: "You okay"
Keifer: "Of course, I am, In fact I got to hear my name from her after 8 long years"
David: "You know you are behaving like an idiot right?"
Keifer: "You would know soon, what it is to be in love"
David: "what is that supposed to mean?"
Keifer: "I saw the way you looked at Sara while picking her up this morning"
David: "yeah blabber all you want, We have an online meeting right now, I actually came here to join and we will be joined another head associate, Gina, she will be here in few minutes"
Keifer: "Is the monitor set in the meeting hall"
David: "No there is an meeting already going on their, we will just have it here on your laptop"
Keifer:" Sure"
The associate came and all of us settled and the meeting started and everyone did their job by pointing out the points, The meeting was finally over.
Gina : "Great job guys, I think we have done a pretty great presentation" she was like an elder sister to me and she is one of the best associates in the city, she joined us because she liked the objective and ethics of our company even when our company was just starting to build up.
She patted my arms saying "Good Job" Her hands was still on my arms when,
"Excuse -" Jay entered and saw and her eyes directly went to Gina's hand which was on mine, she stopped and said
Jay: "Ohh I am sorry for disturbing" she said and moved out
Keifer: "No- you are not" but before I could complete she already left .
Keifer: "Shit"
Gina: "What happened?"
Keifer: "Nothing"
Gina: "Okay, I will leaving for lunch, Guys"
And we nodded.
Keifer: "Shit"
David : "what now?"
Keifer: "What? You didn't see Jay came in and left"
David: "Obviously she will leave if we are in a middle of a meeting"
Keifer: "You idiot, Gina's hands were on my arms when she came and she saw that, Now she must have wrong idea about us or she will be jealous"
David: "How are you sure that she saw that and also she will be jealous"
Keifer: "I know her and I saw in her eyes, Plus she gets jealous easily, you know last time I was smiling and talking with a girl, You know what she did? She went on a blind date set up by her mom just to make me jealous"
David: "Wow, That a nice revenge"
I smacked him,
Keifer: "Idiot, help me"
David : "It's lunch time, so will proably in the cafeteria, come let's go"
