"What did you do to my son?"
Roseanne couldn't believe what she had just heard. For a second she thought she misunderstood him. Her voice came out slightly unsteady but it stayed sharp. She stared at him, ready to throw hands if he pushed any further.
Czar didn't look bothered. He kept the same teasing smile she couldn't stand as he reached into his long coat and took out a piece of paper, holding it between his fingers.
"Why don't you make a call?" he said casually. "He's waiting."
Tears gathered in her eyes but she forced them back. She refused to cry in front of him. The last thing she would do was look weak when she needed to stand her ground.
"You're kidnapping my son," she said.
"Kidnap is a strong word," he replied calmly. "I prefer security. I'm keeping him safe while you're away."
The car slowed down and stopped at the hotel entrance. Roseanne didn't wait. She quickly reached out and snatched the paper from his hand before he could say anything else.
