For the past few days, Caesar had been receiving Senda's reports without fail.
He expected a brief written update. Yet, attached to every single message was always a photograph of Aurora.
Caesar didn't need the photos; a written report would have sufficed.
But he didn't send anything to stop Senda either.
The images helped him confirm that she was eating. Helped him make sure she was doing very well, and he wasn't going against Lucius' advice by keeping her well fed and hydrated.
That was all there was.
Then work swallowed him.
For a day and a half, he didn't check his phone at all. It kept vibrating in his pocket. He knew the messages came from Senda because he would only send one when it was time for a meal.
But there was no time for him to look through each one of them. He had meetings, contract and investing signings, and acquisitions worth hundreds of millions. He barely slept. Didn't even rest.
