Chapter 16 - like hunger

Yuna:

Ethan watched me carefully, his gaze no longer sharp but unreadable, almost gentle in a way that unsettled me more than his intensity ever could.

"I think," he said quietly, stepping closer, "you finally have nowhere to run."

The words should have sounded like a trap. Instead, they felt like a confession.

I looked up at him, realizing how close we were — close enough to feel his warmth, close enough to notice the darkness hidden behind his guarded expression.

"You always decide things for me," I murmured.

A faint smile touched his lips. "Only when you're too afraid to decide for yourself."

His hand lifted slowly, hesitating for a second before brushing a loose strand of hair away from my face.

The gesture was careful, almost reverent, as if he feared I might disappear if he moved too quickly.

My breath caught.

"You're not scared right now," he whispered.

I should have denied it. I should have stepped back.

But I didn't.

Instead, I noticed how his eyes softened when I stayed still, how the tension in his shoulders eased just slightly — like my presence alone calmed something restless inside him.

"Maybe…" I said quietly, "I'm tired of running."

Something changed in his expression then — relief mixed with something deeper, something dangerously warm.

His fingers intertwined with mine, slow and deliberate.

"Good," he murmured. "Because I don't want to chase you anymore."

The distance between us disappeared, not forced, not rushed — just a silent pull neither of us resisted. And for the first time that night, the fear inside my chest blended with something softer.

Something that felt like trust.

The silence between us grew heavier, filled with words neither of us dared to say.

Ethan's gaze dropped to my lips for only a second, but it was enough to make my heartbeat lose rhythm.

His hand slowly moved from mine hand to my waist, hesitant — as if giving me time to step away.

But I didn't.

The world outside seemed to fade, leaving only the warmth between us and the sound of our breathing.

"Yuna…" he whispered, my name softer than I had ever heard it before.

I looked up, and the closeness stole the air from my lungs.

His eyes searched mine, asking a question without words. When I didn't move back, his fingers gently tilted my chin upward.

The kiss came slowly at first — careful, almost unsure. Warm and lingering, like he was memorizing the moment rather than claiming it.

My eyes fluttered closed as the tension that had lived between us for so long finally broke.

His hand tightened slightly at my waist, pulling me closer, and the kiss deepened — not rushed, but filled with emotion held back for too long.

My fingers instinctively curled into his shirt as the world spun quietly around us.

When we finally pulled apart, our breaths mingled, uneven and shared.

He said pulling me away," sorry Yuna i can't do it".

I asked,"why because my brother asked for it to stay away from me".

He looked shocked and he nodded and said," i could not loose my bestfriend".

I said," you will never, I will take your responsibility".

I pulled him and kiss him. He grabbed my waist even tighter. He pulled me up my leg was around his waist. He kiss me like hunger, he started walking up stairs.

I moaned while kissing him my hands grabbing his head. He opened the door of his room by kicking it and closed the door back.
