Now..

First Darius sent out his gravorn and

Terragron stepped forward, each footstep shaking the battlefield.

Elior felt the pressure. Pyrolyn was already tired from the first battle, but its eyes still burned with determination.

"Terragron, use Stone Crash," Darius commanded calmly.

Terragron lifted its massive arm and slammed it into the ground. Sharp stones erupted upward beneath Pyrolyn.

"Pyrolyn, jump!" Elior shouted.

Pyrolyn leaped, barely avoiding the attack—but Terragron was faster.

"Crystal Slam."

Terragron lunged forward and struck Pyrolyn directly.

Pyrolyn hit the ground hard.

"Pyrolyn!" Elior cried.

Pyrolyn tried to stand. Its legs trembled. Its flame flickered weakly.

Elior clenched his fists.

"I believe in you… use Ember!"

Pyrolyn released a small burst of flame. It hit Terragron—but the powerful Rock-type Pokémon barely reacted.

Terragron raised its arm again.

"Finish it," said Darius.

Another crushing strike landed.

This time, Pyrolyn collapsed completely.

Its flame went out.

Silence filled the Gym.

Elior froze.

The referee raised his hand.

"Pyrolyn is unable to battle. The winner is Gym Leader Darius."

Elior slowly walked forward and picked up Pyrolyn, holding it gently in his arms.

"I'm sorry…" he whispered.

He felt like he had failed his partner.

From the sidelines, Mira watched quietly. She didn't smile. She didn't tease him.

Darius stepped down from the platform.

"You fought well," he said.

Elior looked up, confused. "But I lost."

Darius nodded.

"Yes. But you showed faith in your Pokémon. However, faith alone is not enough. You must grow stronger—together."

Elior stayed silent.

"This defeat is not your end," Darius continued. "It is your beginning."

Pyrolyn weakly opened its eyes and looked at Elior.

Even after losing… it still trusted him.

At that moment, Elior understood.

This wasn't failure.

This was a lesson.

He held Pyrolyn close.

"I promise," Elior said softly. "We'll come back stronger. And next time… we'll win."

Pyrolyn's flame flickered again.

Small.

But alive.
