*Third Person POV*
She didn't look up at the people gathered in her room. Her gaze remained fixed on Amber, who was on the verge of losing consciousness due to her actions.
A satisfied smile spread across her lips until someone rushed over and pushed her hard, causing her to fly across the room and crash into a side table.
She let out a pained cry as she felt like she'd broken some bones and cracked her skull. Despite the pain, she couldn't help but smile and laugh.
As she looked up, she saw Aldrake anxiously taking Amber's unconscious body from the floor.
"Amber! Amber, open your eyes!" he ordered, his voice laced with worry.
She wiped her mouth, noticing the blood now staining her hand. The taste of blood from the person she'd wanted to hurt for so long was intoxicating.
She felt a deep satisfaction and a desire to repeat the act, perhaps on her other arm.
She stood up from the floor and slowly walked towards them. Some pack members and her parents took a step back, their faces etched with shock and fear. The fear in their eyes only added to her satisfaction.
"Don't come any closer! Stay where you are!" Aldrake shouted at her, but she didn't listen.
Who was he to command her? He was just the most worthless man she had ever known, and he deserved to die too!
She was working on a plan to k*ll him, all of them! She wanted more blood from all of them!.
"Let's play, Aldrake," she said, still smiling at him as she continued to approach him.
"Are you crazy?! What do you think you're doing, huh?! You've hurt Amber again!" he shouted, his eyes blazing with anger.
If he weren't holding Amber's unconscious body, he would have surely hit her, or maybe even k*lled her.
"I didn't do anything..." she started to say, but her mother cut her off.
"You never do anything right, Livia!! Are you going to kill your sister, huh,?" she shouted, drawing her attention to her. She took a step back as Livia threw her with a sharp, menacing stare.
"Kill her? Mother, a simple bite won't kill her. And if I do kill her, you won't find her breathing anymore!" she shouted back, causing fear to deepen in her eyes.
"It's not enough compared to what she's done to me," she continued. Her attention snapped back to Aldrake as he stood up, his
Beta supports Amber's limp body. His gaze was intense, sharp, and deadly, fixed on her. His fists were clenched, as if he was ready to punch her.
"What did Amber do to you to deserve such treatment? She's been a good sister to you, always looking out for you despite your mistreatment of her. And this is how you repay her?" Aldrake's anger was palpable, and the pheromones he emitted made her feel weak.
Her knees buckled, and she had to hold onto her head. She coughed repeatedly, but instead of fear, she felt a surge of defiance. She laughed again, despite the difficulty breathing.
"If you're angry because you feel like she's taking everything from you, why don't you blame yourself instead, since you're the one who's always making it easy for everyone to hate you?".
"Blame myself? For what? I'm not stupid enough to do something like that, Aldrake. And if I do blame myself, it's for choosing to stay with you despite your mistreatment," she said, struggling to stand straight and face him.
"I regret loving you so much! I regret being your fated mate!" she shouted, causing his expression to darken further.
"If you regret me as your mate, I do too, Livia! You've done nothing but tarnish the pack's reputation. You've done nothing but cause trouble and hurt Amber! You know, you're just proving that Amber is more deserving of the position as Luna of this pack..."
"---Fine! She's the one who's deserving! Are you happy now, huh?! Since she's the one who's deserving of you, why don't you just reject me like I've been asking?!" she shouted at him, despite struggling to breathe. "Rejection will be the end of her suffering from me, Aldrake. Why don't you do it, huh?! You're afraid I'll hurt her, so why don't you find a way to keep her away from me? Reject me, and this will be over!!"
The pheromones became overwhelming, and several people, including his Beta carrying Amber, quickly exited the room. She fell to her knees, clutching her chest, gasping for air.
"Do you think it's that simple? Even if I want to reject you, the council wants you to stay to maintain the pack's integrity. I need you as a display, Livia," Aldrake said, his words shattering her heart.
His words sliced through her heart like a thousand shards of glass, each one cutting deeper into her soul.
Tears streamed down her face, a torrent of pain and despair that she couldn't contain.
She trembled, her entire being shattering under the weight of his cruel words.
It was as if the very foundation of her world had been ripped apart, leaving her gasping for air, unable to process the brutal truth that had just been laid bare.
"You're a monster, Aldrake! How can you be this heartless to me!!" she screamed, trying to stand up but failing.
"You can blame me, Livia. My position and reputation are more important to me. If I could kill you right now, I would. So behave, Livia, if you don't want me to make you suffer even more!"
With those final words, Aldrake turned and left the room, leaving her breathless and broken.
She knurled down on the cold floor, holding her chest. The pain was too much for her to handle. His words were like a thousand knives piercing her heart.
The truth was like a rejection for her, because of the severe pain she felt right now.
It was just a word, but why did it seem like it would be the cause of her death? Is loving the wrong person really this painful?
If so, she thought that once she escaped this hellish place, she wouldn't dare to love again.
