Chapter 5 - Danger Draped in Silk and Sorrow

" How did she end up buried in this? Her body hasn't even decomposed yet." Maive looked her upper body over as the lid still sat diagonal. Marshall couldn't take his eyes off of the ethereal women, even her dress which seemed to be from another time, had aged.

" I'm not sure, but something tells me she's not dead, her dress has rotted more than her." Seth poked his head in between the other two men. They all stood in awe at the woman for a moment before a twitch of her eyelashes causes them to freeze.

" did she just…" " yup" Maive and Seth whispered. Her eyelashes twitched again, making Marshall move the two men behind him just in case this woman was dangerous. He learned a long time ago to not trust all beautiful things, for they were usually deadly in one way or another.

Two beautiful ruby colored eyes flutter open with her snowflake lashes. With each blink, they change from red to icey blue, back and forth until she seemed to finally be able to focus. Marshall backs up a bit further with his comrades, her red eyes meaning something dangerous.

The beautiful pale woman looked around at the ceiling of the modern looking basement room. A furrow of confusion making her delicate eyebrows scrunch together, a motion that seemed unwelcome to her features. Where in the hells was she, her thoughts started running wild before she even noticed the movement and breathing of the three humans in the room.

Cedar, strawberries, and rain, those smells hit her senses hard, along with the same iron scent she craved. Moving her stiff arm, she places a delicate looking hand over the edge of the coffins lid. The easy shove she gave the metal sent it flying off to the side, something that made the men around her hold their breath.

She uses her arms to lift herself to a sitting position, her white hair having grown long passed her feet, in her state. "Ω, ἡ ὕπω ἡ μου!" ancient Greek spilled from her plump lips as she stretches her arms over her head. The decomposing robes hardly moving with how stiff they seemed to become, parts of which hung awkwardly.

Her now icey blue eyes scan her surroundings before landing on the modern humans before her. The men keep an eye on her, wary of what illusion this person could be or if she was worse then that. Her predatorial eyes keep every movement in sight, every lift of the men's chest with air seen and counted.

"το φόρεμα αυτό είναι καταστραμμένο," she said again, pulling at the fragile fabric tearing a piece of it off easily. The woman must have been in there for quite some time, she thought to herself. Not long enough for according to the contract she made with the witch.

" stay still, don't move unless I say" Marshall ordered the woman that now started to stand, although a bit wobbly at first. She chuckled loudly at the order, "μωρός" she slowly stepped out of the coffin, her delicate feet bare, touch the cold stone floor of the basement room.

" do you speak english?" Maive piped up more on the curious side than the cautious one. The ethereal woman chuckles again, a sound so tickling it made them want to join in. To them this woman seemed more and more made from the gods, which started to make her tomb make sense.

" I'll take that as a yes, who are you and why were you in the middle of a tomb in the depths of the rainforest." Marshal got straight to the point, he never liked to beat around the bush. Her white hair waved long and silky down to her feet, slightly pooling on the ground behind her.

" so many questions for a lady who just woke from the best sleep she's had in centuries." Her melodic, smooth voice wafted like perfume around the men's ears. Seth couldn't help but snort a bit of a chuckle at her remark. Maiven looked at her in awe, like a new experiment.

She stretches her body side to side, her figure seemingly similar to ancient statues of beautiful goddesses. Marshall swallows back an unfamiliar urge to touch her, clenching his hands into fists. To touch her? The thought alone confused him but the noise in his head screamed at him.

" Let the elders know its open and to come immediately." Marshall keeps his golden eyes on her as he makes an order to Seth behind him. The dark haired man sighed and brought out a small device, " we opened it" was all he said after pushing a button on the side. The look he gave the back of Marshall's head made Maiven elbow him.

Marshall sighed at the unprofessional tone of Seth but resists the temptation to lecture him on who his bosses are and what his jobs is. " Just stay still and wait for our elders to come and see you" he ordered again at the nymph like woman. A snow nymph, thats what he compared her to.

" you seem to be rather stern, and you don't know who I am, it truly has been a long time." The woman chimes, as she chuckles again at the puffed up Marshall. Her delicate looking hands move to start brushing through her long snowy hair.

The sense of danger never left from the men as they watched this goddess of a woman finger brush the knots out of her hair. " what is the year, humans" she sighs and continues her tangled pursuit.

" 2025, where did you learn ancient Greek? That language is hard to even find texts of." Maiven answered, his green eyes focused on the maiden. He took a step closer to her still aware of the sense of a predator she gave off. Marshall puts an arm out , causing maive to stop and pout slightly.

The woman's head tilts slightly, like a wild Cat looking over a possible meal. " It's easy to learn a cultures language if you spend enough time around them, 2025 huh? It has been a long time" she taps a long elegant finger on her chin.

" Now who was it that broke the magic keeping my tomb hidden?" She asks curiously while she looks straight at Seth behind the two tall men. His deep blue eyes met hers as the two took each other in.

" Your Aura is quite strong, most witches would have died trying to get in. Though I would have preferred you had not broken into my resting place. Seems the one I made a deal with wasn't so strong after all" the woman mostly talked to Seth before sitting on the edge of the coffin.

Maiven basically vibrated with excitement over the possibility of what this woman knew. His urge was more as a researcher than as a man when he looked at her. " How can you tell his aura is strong?" This question was amongst others threatening to poor out of his mouth.

" I would answer but it seems your elders have arrived" was all she said with a smirk on her face. Then the ding of the elevator rang in the large underground room as two of the four elders step through, their grey hoods now lowered.
