Joshua had a sudden desire to wake Daniel up and have him talk more. But Daniel had already started to fall asleep and waking him up now would make the alpha feel guilty.
Especially since the omega pheromones in the air were starting to smell sweet and content once more.
So that's why he decided to not do anything and allow Daniel to go back to sleep.
"I…miss my brother…I want to…see him…once…"
Daniel fell asleep and those were the last honest words that escaped his mouth.
They touched Joshua in a way nothing else had. It reminded him that he had people waiting for him to come back and he could not disappoint them.
He could not disappoint Daniel.
"Don't worry, brother. It will all be over soon and we will take control of the Den. And then there will be nothing left to threaten you anymore and you can come back to us."
Joshua promised this as he brought Daniel's hand over to his lips and pressed a small kiss.
