Honestly, Daniel did not know which possibility was the worst. If Ivan did not recognize him, then Daniel would feel bad about being forgotten. His omega already whined at that possibility and threatened to do stupid things to ensure the Enigma would not forget him again.
But if Ivan knew who Daniel was and was pretending to not know him…or worse, use him…then Daniel felt like he would never be able to recover.
Despite telling himself otherwise, Daniel had found himself trusting Young Master Ivan. It was a fragile trust, filled with hopes and dreams.
And unfortunately, there was no way for Daniel to be able to regret this.
"What a mess. I am just asking for a broken heart here. No matter what the outcome is, the only one who's going to get hurt is me, right?"
Still, did it make sense? Whether the young master knew or not, the fact that he had imprinted on Daniel, even temporarily, was a cause for concern and it was something that needed to be taken care of quickly.
