Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Tides of War

Minutes before

The battle was devastating. The Titans were throwing entire mountains at the sons of Kronos, while they defended themselves and attacked with the weapons provided by the Cyclopes. But they could not face everyone alone. Damon was missing, who had not yet arrived at the battle, which led the Titans to think that he had left like he did two years ago. But something that neither the sons of Kronos nor the Titans themselves expected happened: a huge figure appeared throwing multiple enormous rocks at the Titans with his 100 arms, while 50 voices sounded like war cries that frightened the Titans when they saw the monster that had joined the sons of Kronos.

"This has to be a joke, did they seriously release the Hecatoncheires?!" Atlas shouted, who remained beside Kronos, who was still watching the giant that was throwing an absurd amount of rocks at them.

Kronos simply growled at that, but he knew that this would not be enough for his sons to win. In his eyes, the only real threat was Damon, who was currently missing.

"It doesn't matter, just advance. This will not stop us" Kronos said authoritatively while he was the first to take a step forward, striking a huge rock that had been directed at him.

Kronos quickly struck the ground with his fist, creating a great earthquake followed by a loud crash, which unbalanced the Hecatoncheir and stopped him from throwing rocks at them, giving enough time for the Titans to advance.

Seeing this, all the sons of Kronos took a step back to regroup and think about what to do, all except the Hecatoncheir, who remained in his place staring at the Titans who were advancing toward them.

"But where is Damon now?!" Poseidon asked, somewhat uneasy.

"I don't know, he didn't say anything" Hades replied.

"He must be on the way. I don't think he'll take long, and even less after that guy hit the ground" the Hecatoncheir said indifferently.

"How do you know?" Zeus asked, a little irritated.

"Because he brought me here" simply answered one of the 50 heads.

Those simple words from the giant with 50 heads brought hope to Hades and Poseidon, but it only frustrated Zeus even more. Every time he tried to show that Damon was not necessary because he was not present, he always tried to surpass him to make it clear that he was stronger than him, but he failed every time he tried. It was as if for every step Zeus took, Damon took two steps further away from him.

And the fact that he freed the Hecatoncheires was another action that showed that he had once again moved ahead of him. Why the hell didn't he think of that idea before Damon freed them? He could not allow Damon to keep surpassing him… (bro zeus bro hahahah)

The short conversation did not stop the advance of the Titans, who seemed to already be singing victory, until another presence fell from the sky itself, making the Hecatoncheir smile, something that confused the three brothers who were eager to know who the newcomer was.

The dust from the impact of the fall of the new presence, which forced the Titans to stop, left everyone waiting to see who it was. Kronos did not like this at all. Someone falling from the sky? That was definitely not good. But when he saw who had fallen from the sky, his blood ran cold.

A strong wind dispersed all the dust around to reveal Damon with his sword in his right hand, which was relaxed, letting the blade hang while he looked at the Titans. This frightened them quite a bit. Then something happened that confused everyone: Damon raised the sword, but with the edge pointing backward, exactly where his brothers, the Cyclopes, and the Hecatoncheir were.

No one knew what he was doing. What did he mean with his actions? No one knew except one. The Hecatoncheires began to laugh loudly, because they perfectly understood what Damon wanted. Something that confused his brothers greatly as they watched how the Hecatoncheir grabbed one of the mountains previously thrown by the Titans toward them with the help of almost all of his 100 arms and threw it with all his strength toward the Titans, passing right above Damon who still had the sword raised.

Then something happened that neither of the two sides expected: the mountain split perfectly in two, as if it had been cut. Then Damon released the sword, which never fell. It remained floating in the air as if the ground were not worthy of touching that weapon. He then extended his arms, each one pointing toward the two mountains that were dangerously approaching the Titans, who prepared themselves for the impact but never expected what was about to happen.

When Damon raised his arms, a huge gust of wind pushed the mountains even further, reaching nearly ten times their original speed, leaving the Titans no time to react.

The moment the trembling caused by this action stopped, Damon's brothers remained in shock. They did not expect this. How had he become so strong in only a few hours? And more importantly, how in Tartarus was he able to control the air as if it were his own body?

The Titans were in an even worse state than Damon's brothers. They had no idea how he was able to control the wind like that, since that was something only two beings could do: Aether, the primordial of wind, and Uranus, the primordial of the sky. How could Damon manipulate air in such a way? But that was not their main problem.

The two gigantic rocks struck directly two Titans: Iapetus and Coeus. The first one was knocked out of the battle by the force of the impact, since unlike Coeus he did not cover himself due to his arrogance. Being such a large Titan made him think that a simple "little rock" could not harm him, but any stone, no matter how small, thrown at the right speed could cause devastating damage—a lesson he learned the hard way.

Coeus was another case. He was very intelligent and the moment he saw Damon's sword remain motionless in the air, he understood something was wrong. That bad feeling made him cross his arms to receive the impact as best as he could, but it did not save him completely. One of his arms was useless, shattered by the force of the impact, and he was now on the ground struggling to stay conscious because of the pain.

Before the Titans could recover from the shock, Damon quickly grabbed his katana that was still floating in the air and pointed it toward the Titans without saying a single word. His brothers understood immediately and began running toward the Titans with their own weapons to start the battle, supported by the Hecatoncheir who continued throwing enormous rocks at the Titans, several of them directed at Coeus who was still lying on the ground almost unconscious.

Damon ran to face Kronos himself, since he knew that if Kronos fell, this war would come to an end.
