"How can you control the wind?!" Kronos asked with rage in his voice when he realized Damon was approaching him.
"Let's just say it's a gift. From whom? That doesn't concern you," Damon said while still approaching Kronos.
"Arrogant fool, that will not give you victory!" Kronos shouted while also running toward Damon, preparing a huge punch.
Damon did not even pay attention to him. He knew Kronos only wanted to provoke him so he would make mistakes. What, that would not give him victory? Time puts everyone in their place.
As quickly as Kronos stretched his arm, leaving an opening that he never expected Damon to exploit since he was still quite far away, Damon cut the air with his katana even though he was not even close to Kronos.
This confused him for a moment before he began laughing at Damon's stupidity. But he only received a victorious smile from Damon, something that confused him further. However, that did not stop his advance—until he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. Then he saw a deep cut appear there, followed by intense pain and a large amount of blood. That was the first wound he had ever received in his life… and it would not be the last.
As quickly as he stopped to look at the enormous wound on his chest, he saw Damon cut the air again. But this time he saw wind come out from the blade, extremely sharp, heading toward his position. He moved his head aside just in time, receiving a deep cut on his left cheek. Another problem for Kronos. Now he knew Damon could perform long-distance attacks capable of harming him even with his thick skin.
Damon did not have time to attack Kronos again because he had to dodge a blow that came from his right. He jumped backward and when he touched the ground he saw how a damn mountain was heading straight toward him. He did the first thing he thought of: he covered his head with his forearms preparing for the impact, which never came. When he quickly opened his eyes, the mountain had disappeared and he could see how a wall of wind was protecting him. This confused him greatly, since the wind itself had risen to protect him. He had not expected that. "I have to say, I'm starting to like the sky, honestly hahaha," Damon said cheerfully to himself.
Atlas positioned himself beside Kronos protectively since he had been the one who tried to strike Damon, who dodged by jumping away from him. Perfect—something he did not want to happen: having to face Atlas and Kronos at the same time, just like ten years ago when he won simply because of a mistake from Atlas, something that would not happen again.
"Oh come on, father, do you always need your lover to defend you?" Damon said ironically, trying to anger Kronos.
Who knows, maybe Kronos's enormous ego would stop him from being saved twice. But he only received a growl from the two Titans in front of him, which made him sigh and stretch his muscles since he was a bit tense.
Separated from the other Titans and from Damon's brothers, the field felt the pressure of the battle that was about to take place. "Let the dance begin," Damon said while cracking his neck with his free hand.
Kronos POV>
Standing beside Atlas, I could not help but feel the imminent danger emanating from my "son." The way the sky reacted to him brought back memories of his father. What enraged him was that the very same person who had given him the prophecy was now helping his firstborn son overthrow him. The same thing he did against his own father was now happening to him. Without a doubt, Kronos felt a déjà vu.
Breaking out of his thoughts, Kronos turned toward Atlas: "This is serious; enough games. We're going all out. I don't care about the consequences," Kronos said, furious that it had reached this point.
"You don't have to tell me twice," Atlas said seriously, his deep voice resonating as he stared fixedly at Kronos's son.
End POV
The two Titans increased their monstrous power, entering their true all-powerful forms. Damon, already alert, felt the monstrous pressure coming from Atlas. His perception was being altered because of Kronos. For Damon, this was the first time he was seeing Kronos's dominion in action; however, he was prepared for it.
Damon increased his power and authority; the skies darkened. With a gesture of his hand, storms began to form.
Atlas, seeing this, was the first to attack. Every step sank into the earth, feeling as if he were weight incarnate, and with sheer force he faced the winds and thunder, showing his strength and durability. His steps created more mountains, which he in turn pulled from the earth and hurled toward Damon.
Damon rose into the sky and stopped the advance of the mountains easily. Beginning to fly at great speed, propelling himself with air and lightning toward Atlas, he crashed into him directly, and the force of that collision made the ground collapse, causing devastation in the surroundings.
Without wasting time, in a second, the Titan swung an arm; the air compressed and exploded, and he threw his fist in an attempt to crush Damon. Damon, in turn, changed the atmospheric pressure to make Atlas's movements heavier, giving himself enough time to dodge the Titan's fists.
In milliseconds, Damon raised his finger, compressing his destructive affinity and launching what he called an absolute zero at the Titan. Atlas trusted in his resistance, but Kronos did not and shouted at the Titan—
"ATLAS, DON'T GET COCKY!" Not remaining idle, he created loops of time, creating time anchors and slowing Damon's attack for a few seconds, giving Atlas time to try to defend himself.
Seeing this, Damon, with a gesture of his hand and his affinity overflowing, released a wave against the time anchor, destroying the temporal loops. Surprising Kronos, but he did not have time to think…..FIUNNDDDD. The zero exploded in a wave, disintegrating the matter around it.
Atlas tried to protect himself, barely enduring the disintegration due to his resistance and durability, but the wounds it caused healed slowly, showing the Titan that not only Damon's sword could injure him, something that put him on alert.
Kronos quickly approached Atlas and used his power over time to rewind his injuries, returning his body to an intact state. Atlas took several long breaths. "Your son is stronger than I expected. I didn't expect him to have this destructive power up his sleeve," said the Titan.
Kronos nodded. Now seeing the effects of that power firsthand, in simple terms, Damon could not destroy time itself, but his power was not limited to matter either. If Kronos's temporal manipulations took shape during the fight, Damon could break them. In simple terms, he could destroy the opportunities Kronos created to control the battle. "This is becoming more and more problematic," said the Titan.
With a single thought, Damon unleashed the storms once again, denying both Titans even the slightest instant of rest.
"Hahaha… KRONOS!!, I can keep this going all day, buddy."
Kronos clicked his tongue, irritated by Damon's words, and so the fight began again, causing destruction everywhere and earthquakes.
But this time there was something new—a hurricane, a gigantic hurricane accompanied by several tornadoes that spun around Damon, as if he was the very eye of the storm. Atlas's arrogance taught him not to underestimate the force of nature itself, since he got too close to one of the tornadoes and almost ended up losing an arm due to the enormous force spinning within it. That made him avoid getting close for too long, otherwise he would end up dragged by one of the tornadoes and with luck he would only lose a leg.
That said, many others didn't have the same luck; using atmospheric pressure and his control over storms and winds, some Titans fell before this combination, not being strong enough to face nature.
At the same time, fatigue accumulated on both sides. Everyone had been fighting for hours without rest or anything close to it. Everyone looked exhausted except for two figures: Damon and Kronos. Damon had incredible endurance that allowed him to fight for days if necessary, while Kronos fought but also tried to stay out of the fight as much as he could, but Damon didn't give him many opportunities.
Meanwhile, Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades were quite exhausted, but they accomplished their task: each one defeated or forced the Titans they fought to retreat, although they suffered great wounds or could barely stand due to exhaustion. With the help of the Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires, they focused on helping the three of them recover as quickly as possible, so the three together could keep other Titans away from Atlas and Kronos. If that did not happen, no matter how strong Damon was, facing Kronos and Atlas and all the Titans would be too risky. But if things continued like this, Damon would have no other option.
Already tired of having to contain Atlas while watching for any movement from Kronos, Damon remembered something that would help him get out of this situation.
What is this plan? Can Damon possibly defeat the Titans?
You will find out on the next episode…..
