I lay down, pondering for a bit. The fact that he thought I could like Xavier romantically must be because I asked about something I never would have worried about before. But given the circumstances, they are totally different to before. That's why I asked. I don't want to get in trouble, much less at my workplace.
After changing my alarm to wake up a little earlier than usual to buy the coffee, I went to sleep determined to give him the drink and stop getting myself into these kinds of situations with him again. I don't think I'll ever tell him I'm Connor, so it's best if I keep the distance we should normally have as employer and employee.
With this in mind, I fell asleep, finally finding some peace. When I woke up, it felt as if I had only blinked, which made me wonder if it was a good or a bad thing. I don't feel tired, so I guess it was a good night's sleep.
