"Consort?" Chen Wenjin thought as she staggered.
"Young Miss." Xaio Mei wh as she came to support her young Miss who peaked through the gap of the door of Liu Tiancheng's living quarters.
From her view from the gap of the door, her cousin, Chen Jinyu laid sprawled on Liu Tiancheng's body without any gap in between them and her hands were on his chest as she talked.
"Sister is truly so thickheaded so she will only know if you tell her outright." Chen Jinyu said with a smile as her hands grazed Liu Tiancheng's chest.
Seeing that Liu Tiancheng didn't reply to her earlier question, Chen Jinyu gave him another nudge by saying "Or are you scared?" with a smile.
"Scared?" Liu Tiancheng asked with a voice full of pride.
"Scared of what?" Liu Tiancheng asked as her sat up slightly.
"Chen Wenjin would do anything for me." Liu Tiancheng said with a smile as she gripped Chen Jinyu's face.
"Being a consort to me will be her life's long dream, what's there to be scared of?" Liu Tiancheng asked as he kissed Chen Jinyu on the lips.
Chuckling daintily, Chen Jinyu said "But sister can be really vicious."
"What if when she becomes a consort, and I the main wife she plots to kill me." Chen Jinyu said in a pitiful tone as she faced away from Liu Tiancheng.
"She wouldn't dare!" Liu Tiancheng said sternly as he gripped Chen Jinyu's chin and roughly pulled her face towards his.
"Fearing that I would turn away from her, Chen Wenjin would be nothing short of docile and obedient." Liu Tiancheng said with a smile as he looked into Chen Jinyu's eyes.
"Just wait for her to be a consort, then you can repay her for everything she has done to you." Liu Tiancheng said as he kissed Chen Jinyu's lips.
"Repay me?" Chen Wenjin asked softly as she stared at the man that she had given her heart to.
"Repay me?" Chen Wenjin softly asked again not believing her ears.
"Young Miss." Xaio Mei said sadly, waiting for her decision.
"Prepare the carriage." Chen Wenjin said brokenly.
"We are heading back to the Chen Residence." Chen Wenjin said as the scene of her little cousin and her husband to be entangled in each other's arm burned itself into her memory.
Stepping out of the Marquis Mansion shattered and heartbroken, Chen Wenjin tried her best to keep herself together as she boarded the carriage home.
Left with just her thoughts in the carriage, memories of her and Liu Tiancheng naturally flooded her mind.
Flashback
Age 6
"Help," yelled a young servant as he watched his young master drown.
"My young master can't swim." yelled a young servant as he begged someone to save his young master.
Seeing the young master splashing helplessly in the water, a young girl jumped into the water without hesitation to save him.
Dragging the passed out young master out of the river with all her strength, the young girl pressed her hands to his chest and tried her best to force the water out of his lungs. Grunting the young master turned to the side to throw up water and immediately the young servant kneeled and thanked her.
Accepting the young servant's thanks with a smile, the girl was about to turn away but the little boy called her back weakly and weakly gave her a pendant.
"Take this as my promise to you." said the young boy as he weakly passed her a white jade pendant.
"When we grow up, I will surely marry you." The boy promised as he coughed weakly.
Age 8
A girl cried as she was pushed down by other girls and a boy ran forward to defend her.
"I am warning you." The boy said to the other girls as he stood protectively over the girl that they had pushed.
"Anyone who bullies my future wife will have to deal with me!" the young boy declared and the other girls scattered.
"You saved me." the young girl said as she looked up to the young boy.
"This is the least I can do for my future wife." the young boy said with a proud smile.
Age 16.
"Brother Liu Tiancheng." Chen Wenjin said in happiness as she ran towards him.
"I have missed you so much." Chen Wenjin said as she hugged him.
"Well if it isn't my soon to be wife." Liu Tiancheng said as he lifted her up and spun her around happily.
Age 18
"Brother Liu Tiancheng." Chen Wenjin said as she ran to come greet him only to see Chen Jinyu talking and smiling beside him.
Present
"It all went downhill from there!" Chen Wenjin said as she gripped her hair in despair.
"It all went downhill from there." Chen Wenjin said as angry tears gathered in her eyes.
"And who do you blame?" a voice that Chen Wenjin mistook to be her inner voice said.
"Both of them!" Chen Wenjin yelled in anger.
"We have arrived, young miss." Xiao Mei said and Chen Wenjin immediately snapped out of her crazed state.
Cleaning her eyes and arranging her hair, Chen Wenjin wondered why she reacted that way.
"I seemed to have made contact." Shen Xiatang said as Chen Wenjin stepped out of the carriage.
"How to check." Shen Xiatang said as she passed out of the carriage and followed Chen Wenjin.
