Kenta: (not looking up) "I'm studying."
Sui: (crawling over) "Studying what? Math?"
Kenta: "Chess."
Sui: (blinking) "Chess? At 5 AM?"
Kenta: "I discovered online databases. Thousands of grandmaster games. Patterns. Strategies. Openings."
Sui: (looking at his screen) "You've been doing this all night?"
Kenta: "Since 2 AM."
Sui: (grabbing his face) "KENTA-KUN! SLEEP!"
Kenta: "I'm not tired."
Sui: "YOUR EYES ARE BLOODSHOT!"
Yui: (stirring) "What's happening..."
Sui: "Kenta-kun hasn't slept! He's been studying chess!"
Yui: (sitting up) "CHESS?! All night?!"
Kenta: (calmly) "I've analyzed 147 grandmaster games. I'm beginning to see patterns."
Sui: (horrified) "147?! In ONE NIGHT?!"
Kenta: "Each game takes about 2 minutes to review when you know what to look for."
Yui: (grabbing his other side) "BED. NOW."
Kenta: "I have class in three hours."
Sui: "THEN YOU SLEEP FOR THREE HOURS!"
(They drag him to bed. Force him down. Wrap around him.)
Kenta: (trapped) "This is inefficient."
Sui: (firmly) "Sleep is efficient. Your brain needs rest."
Yui: (also firmly) "We're not letting go until you close your eyes."
Kenta: (sighing) "...Fine."
(He closes his eyes. Within minutes, he's asleep.)
Sui: (whispering) "He's so dedicated."
Yui: (whispering back) "Our genius."
Sui: "But we have to take care of him."
Yui: "Always."

[Scene: School - Next Day]
(Kenta walks through the hallway. Sui and Yui flank him. Takahashi appears.)
Takahashi Kenji: "KENTA! I heard you've been studying chess nonstop!"
Kenta: "I've been analyzing games."
Takahashi Kenji: "Dude, there's a district tournament next week! You should enter!"
Kenta: (pausing) "A tournament?"
Takahashi Kenji: "Yeah! High school division! Winners go to state, then nationals!"
Sui: (eyes sparkling) "Kenta-kun should do it!"
Yui: (also sparkling) "He would DOMINATE!"
Kenta: (thinking) "District. State. Nationals. More competitions. More problems to solve."
Kenta: (aloud) "I'll need to study more."
Takahashi Kenji: (grinning) "THAT'S THE SPIRIT!"

7:00 AM - 8:00 AM: Breakfast with Sui and Yui
8:00 AM - 3:00 PM: School (paying attention, solving problems)
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Homework and advanced study (Professor Hayashi's problems)
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Chess practice (playing online, reviewing losses)
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Dinner and time with Sui and Yui
9:00 PM - 11:00 PM: More chess analysis
11:00 PM: Sleep (enforced by Sui and Yui)

Sui: (amazed) "You're like a machine."
Kenta: (almost smiling) "A learning machine."

Sui: (kissing his cheek) "Good luck charm."
Yui: (kissing his other cheek) "Double charm."
Kenta: (touching his cheeks) "Two more."
Sui: (grinning) "Count them all!"
Yui: (also grinning) "You'll need a new notebook!"
Kenta: (almost laughing) "I'll add a chess section."

(A large hall. Dozens of boards. Students from across the district. Parents. Coaches. Tension.)
Sui: (squeezing his hand) "Kenta-kun... I'm nervous for you."
Yui: (squeezing his other hand) "Me too!"
Kenta: "I'm not nervous."
Sui: "HOW?!"
Kenta: "I've prepared. The rest is execution."

Kenta: "Mate in seven. Your king has no escape."
Tanaka: (studying) (paling) "I... resign."

Sui: (from the crowd) "THAT'S OUR BOYFRIEND!"
Yui: (also yelling) "15 MINUTES!"
(Tanaka slinks away. Humiliated.)

(Opponent: Suzuki, ranked 5th.)
Suzuki: (nervous) "I saw your first game. That was brutal."
Kenta: "I just played."
(They play. 22 minutes. Kenta wins.)

Yamamoto: (staring) "You really see it that way?"
Kenta: "It's the only way to see it."
(They play. 38 minutes. Kenta wins.)
Yamamoto: (shaking his hand) "You're incredible. Good luck in finals."
Kenta: "Thank you."

(The game progresses. Nakamura is strong. Very strong.)
Kenta: (thinking) "He favors closed positions. Struggles with open tactical battles. I need to open the board."
(He sacrifices a pawn. Then a knight. Nakamura's eyes widen.)
Nakamura: "You're sacrificing?!"
Kenta: "Calculated risk."
(The attack unfolds. Piece after piece. Nakamura defends desperately.)
Nakamura: (sweating) "This is... insane..."
Kenta: (moving) "Check."
Nakamura: (blocking)
Kenta: "Check."
Nakamura: (blocking)
Kenta: "Checkmate."
(Silence. Then EXPLOSION.)
Sui: (screaming) "HE WON! HE WON THE DISTRICT!"
Yui: (also screaming) "KENTA-KUN!"
Nakamura: (staring at the board) "I... I haven't lost in two years."
Kenta: "You played well."
Nakamura: (looking up) "What's your secret?"
Kenta: "I treat chess like math. Every position is an equation. Every move is a variable. Every game is a problem to solve."
Nakamura: (long pause) "You're going to go far, Kenta Morik."

(Kenta stands on the podium. Gold medal around his neck. Trophy in his hands.)
Tournament Director: "District champion... KENTA MORIK!"
(The crowd cheers. Sui and Yui are crying. Jumping. Hugging.)
Sui: "THAT'S OUR BOYFRIEND!"
Yui: "THE DISTRICT CHAMPION!"
Takahashi Kenji: (somehow there) "I KNEW IT! I ALWAYS KNEW IT!"
Professor Hayashi: (in the crowd, crying) "MY STUDENT! MY STUDENT IS A CHAMPION!"
(Kenta looks at them. All of them. Cheering. Crying. Loving.)
Kenta: (thinking) "This is what it feels like. To win. To be celebrated. To have people who care."
(He almost smiles. On stage. In front of everyone.)

[Scene: After the Tournament]
(Sui and Yui tackle him as soon as he steps down.)
Sui: (kissing his cheek) "CHAMPION!"
Yui: (kissing his other cheek) "OUR CHAMPION!"
Kenta: (stumbling) "I won."
Sui: "WE KNOW!"
Yui: "WE WATCHED!"
Professor Hayashi: (approaching) "Kenta. First chess, now this. Is there anything you can't do?"
Kenta: (thinking) "I can't cook as well as Yui."
Yui: (beaming) "HE NOTICED!"
Sui: (pouting) "Hey! I'm improving!"
Kenta: (almost smiling) "You are."
Sui: (melting) "HE SAID I'M IMPROVING!"

[Scene: Kenta's Room - Night]
(Five items on the desk now. Astrolabe. Competition trophy. Professor's medal. Olympiad gold. District chess trophy.)
Kenta: (looking at them) "Five."
(He picks up the chess trophy. Studies it.)
Kenta: (thinking) "All because I learned a game. In one hour. And studied for one week."
(He places it with the others.)
(His phone buzzes. Two messages.)
Sui: "Kenta-kun! District champion! Next stop, STATE! And then NATIONALS! And then WORLD! We'll be there every step! "
Yui: "My prince~ watching you destroy everyone at chess is my new favorite hobby! That final game! The sacrifices! The checkmate! I DIED! Goodnight, champion!"
Kenta: (smiling) (typing back to both): "Goodnight. Thank you for being there. For cheering. For believing. I couldn't have done it without you."
(Immediate replies:)
Sui: "HE SAID WE HELPED HIM WIN! "
Yui: "WE'RE HIS GOOD LUCK CHARMS! PROGRESS! "
Sui: "SWEET DREAMS OUR CHESS KING!"
Yui: "DREAM OF US! (AND YOUR NEXT VICTORY!) "
Kenta: (putting down the phone) (looking at the five treasures)
Kenta: (thinking) "Father. Professor. Sui. Yui. All of them. Part of every victory."
(He joins them in bed. Three together.)
Sui: (drowsy) "Kenta-kun... state tournament in two months..."
Yui: (also drowsy) "You'll win that too..."
Kenta: (quietly) "I will."
Sui: "We know..."
Yui: "Always know..."
(They fall asleep. Kenta stays awake a moment longer.)
Kenta: (thinking) "State. Then nationals. Then who knows? But whatever comes next... I'm ready."
(He closes his eyes. Smiling.)
Kenta: (thinking, last thought) "Because I'm not alone anymore."
