Chapter 8 - Interrupted Bliss

Third Person's POV

Sierra and Damian were happy being together. Having their little date that they couldn't do when Sierra got into an accident.

"Look, Lovey! A photobooth. Let's try it again. I miss taking pictures with you." Sierra's excitement showed as she grabbed Damian's wrist.

Damian felt relieved being with Sierra again. He feels like Sierra is still the same back when they were students. Maybe because of her accident and coma in college.

They're grabbing accessories to use in their little snaps, unaware that someone was following them and they were being photographed throughout their date.

"I already sent the soft copy into your email address, Ms. Moreau. I hope the settlement payment will be deposited on my bank account." A person holding his phone in his ear while looking at his laptop screen.

["Let me check it first and be done with it."] The voice in the other line replied.

The call ended.

It's 9 o'clock pm. Damian and Sierra are walking side by side while their hands are intertwined.

"Isn't it amazing? Walking with you again in this place like how we used to before?" Damian smiled thinking of their past hobby when they were secretly dating before.

"Yeah. When I woke up in a coma, I thought I was just gone for several days and you're worriedly looking for me. I can't contact you because my phone was lost in the accident."

She paused. A small, sad smile tugged at her lips while her eyes were looking at the sky trying to stop herself from crying.

"And then I opened the television in front of me, and saw the news about your marriage." She continued then looked at him.

"You know I won't let that happen if we're still together. I am still hoping for you to come back to me. But the anger inside thinking you abandoned me made me say yes in that marriage." He explained.

"I know. I know. And when I saw that news I thought you're the one who abandoned me." Sierra softly laughed at how their relationship accidentally fell apart because of misunderstanding after the accident.

Damian tightly held her hands.

"Let's make it up to each other now." Damian cupped her face and slowly leaned his face closer to Sierra.

Sierra closes her eyes thinking he's gonna kiss her but he just chuckles and gently pinched her nose.

"Are you that hungry of me?" He teases.

Sierra quickly opened her eyes and hit him in his chest.

"What a jerk!" She shouted at him annoyed but still laughing at his silliness.

He just laughed at her and grabbed her wrist and cupped her face again. This time, he really did kiss her.

It's slow at first, but it becomes deeper and wild when they both feel their desires.

He slowly separates his face from Sierra and looks at her eyes.

"Want to come over to my place?" He grinned after saying those words.

She smiled, slowly and shyly nodded her head to answer his questions.

They both laughed when it was cut by a sudden noise from Damian's pocket.

His secretary is calling him.

He hesitated to answer. He wants his full attention to Sierra.

"It's fine. It might be an emergency." She gave him permission even though he's not asking for one.

He answered the call and walked a little away from Sierra.

"Spit it."

[Ms. Celeste Moreau, your fiance booked a flight just now. She will be here in the country tomorrow morning."] He directly said the whole point.

"I get it. Thanks." He quickly ended the call and walked towards Sierra.

Sierra felt Damian become restless. She knew something came up.

"What happened?"

"I'm sorry. I think we can't go to my place tonight. Something came up." Damian seems bothered.

She just nodded at him and reached into his hands. Gently pinch it.

"It's fine. We can see our faces at the office. We can call and text. Go where you need to go." She smiled brightly so he won't be bothered anymore.

He smiled at her but an unsure stare filled his eyes. Sierra ignores it. He wanted to know what was happening but she didn't want to open up what's bothering. She will just wait for Damian's words.

Damian drives her to the street near her house but silence weighs heavily on her.

'Will he be okay?' A thought came to her mind because Damian seems lost in deep thought.

Damian quickly leaves his car and goes in front of the car door where Sierra is. Trying to help her out.

When Sierra got out, she was about to bid him goodbye but Damian hurriedly got in his car and drove at full speed. Leaving her stunned.

Sierra never heard anything from Damian since then. Weekends past already and the day is the day where Sierra hopes to see Damian.

She keeps thinking that Damian is just too busy to remember to text or call her.

"He hasn't reached you out yet?" Her sister, Nadia, worriedly asked her.

Sierra just slowly shakes her head, giving her no as an answer.

Nadia just patted her back to comfort her. She's not in a mood since Damian and her separated that night.

They entered their office now and sat on their respective desks.

Everyone was quiet. No one noticed a new girl in the team leader's chair.

"You!" Sierra turned her head to see where the sound was coming.

A girl in a fitted red dress full of glitters slowly walks toward her. Her pointy heels are making a loud noise that everyone's got their attention.

"State your name and your role." Sierra is confusedly looking at her. She didn't recognize her.

"Are you stupid? Or deaf?" Celeste, Damian's fiance, snapped irritably.

She never knew her. But Celeste already checked her background.

"I'm not stupid nor a deaf either. You didn't properly introduce yourself first. So, why would I tell you mine?" Sierra firmly answers her. Looking at Celeste straight into her eyes.

Celeste smirks.

"If I introduce myself to you, would you kneel?" Celeste teasingly replies.

Sierra's face showed disbelief. She met Celeste's glare confidently.

"Celeste Moreau. Damian's fiance." Every word she uttered made sure that Sierra would realise her place.

Sierra's confidence wavered. Her eyes didn't lie that made Celeste smirk in satisfaction.

"That is what you got for messing with the wrong man, bitch." Celeste's playful thought watching Sierra lose herself.

"She's Damian's fiance. It seems she might know who I am," Sierra thought.

She froze in the middle of arguments when she suddenly heard a familiar voice that made her comeback to her senses.

"Celeste!"
