On the morning of New Year's Eve, Taylen woke early, freshened up, and quickly finished all his chores, knowing the evening celebrations would take up the rest of the day.
Taylen was his makeshift gym at the end of the morning, he had upgraded it much more, had replaced wooden weights on the bench press and dumbellls by iron weights, and also enchanted them. He stopped pulling a huge boulder as he saw the sun setting, and then removed charms from it.
He whistled and ran as WingBlack came from above and swept him up towards the castle. In moments, he neared the castle, took some treats out of his pocket and fed Wingblack as he jumped straight into an open window mid air and the happy thestral flew away.
"Alright, let's get ready shall we?" He said heading to the loo.
By late afternoon, Arcturus was standing outside waiting for Taylen. He wore a white shirt, navy blue pants and a grey tie to match it all, he wore also a gray vest and a long coat to go with it.
Taylen walked down the stairs, with Jack holding his blazer as he was tightening his tie, of his black and white suit. He had rolled up his sleeves and even wore a black vest. He tucked in his tie and put a strand of his loose hair behind, as he put on the blazer.
He went outside to find Arcturus talking to a toddler Jarvey, and petting it.
"Ready?"
"Yep."
He held Arcturus' arm as he felt a pull at his core and they were at the Ministry Atrium.
After a while of some stairs and lifts they were now at the party.
Arcturus could see many familiar faces that he had known , Amelia Bones, Albus Dumbledore (yes he was there) along with Cornelius Fudge and that pink abdomination, who he seriously wanted to kill, Barthemius Crouch Jr, and obviously Mad Eye Moody.
He walked towards Moody with his father
"Hello there Moody! You enjoying the party?"
"Ah yes Arcturus, brought the lad with you too eh? Is he being a good kid?"
"Yep he is , how is Albus here? I thought he was going to Belgium?"
"His schedule was 'canceled' , according to him, so eh, hes here. And I think Lucius didn't come today hearing that me, you and Amelia are attending the eve"
"Talking about me gentlemen?" Said a woman, with a broad face and short brown hair.
"Taylen, go and enjoy the eve, socialize, unless-"
"Sure Arcturus I'll be off, let me know when we will leave alright, enjoy!"
I said as I head off, and see a woman with pale blonde hair pass by me walking towards the lot I just left.
I conversed with a few kids of my age, from the Abbot, Yaxley and a specific Sully, there were boys who undoubtedly were filled with ideas on the muggle world from their death eaters family, which wasn't a surprise, they hardly have any knowledge or any aptitude to talk about magic even a minimum.
The girls from Parkinsons, Greengrass and some other family were a bit smart, they though still had that supremacy ideal.
The party felt boring, I took off my blazer as the night fell after the dinner kept it on my arm and I saw Arcturus drinking and having fun, then I head to the long hallway like balcony, and to a corner as it was empty there, leaned and watched over the dark forest.
Away inside, Kathey was getting pissed off from the company of the dafts of the girls from the so called 'noble' families. She wore a soft midnight-blue dress that falls just below the knees, with light silver embroidery along the sleeves and collar. She had a silver bracelet on her right hand and silver moon shaped earrings.
She excused herself as she walked towards the balcony.
As she stepped in, the scar on her thumb of the moon, lit up. Her eyes widened as her head turned to a corner.
Taylen looked up from his thumb , which had been glowing and to his right. As his eyes widened.
Taylen POV
I looked down at my thumb.
The scar was glowing.
My breath caught as I slowly lifted my head.
A girl was walking toward me.
My heart began to race.
Please… let it be her.
She had purplish-blue eyes, unlike anything I had ever seen before. Her pale blonde hair flowed over her shoulders, slightly curled at the ends. As she came closer, a faint scent drifted toward me—
daisies.
My breath came out unevenly.
Kathey POV
Something was pulling me toward him.
The boy standing there looked up at me with blue eyes, pale like snow but deeper, colder. His hair brushed the back of his neck, thick and slightly wild.
And his build…
For a ten-year-old, he looked surprisingly strong, as if he spent half his life working or surviving somewhere rough.
When I stepped closer, I caught his scent.
Fresh rain on earth.
Or maybe newly cut wood.
I couldn't quite tell.
POV End
"Hey… you alright there?" Kathey asked gently.
"You look like you've… been through something."
"Y-yeah… I'm fine," he replied with a small laugh. "You are?"
"Katherine Lovegood." She paused. "But… you can call me Kathey."
Taylen's breath caught in his throat.
After so long… finally.
"And you are?" she asked.
"Taylen. Taylen Ethan Peverell."
Tears suddenly filled Kathey's eyes.
Taylen felt his own vision blur.
"Just to make sure…" Taylen said softly, holding out his hand.
Kathey took it without hesitation.
The moment their hands touched—
the glowing scars faded.
For a second they simply stared at each other.
Then, almost instinctively, they pulled each other into a tight hug, making sure no one was around to see.
They held on as if letting go would make the moment disappear.
After a while, Taylen spoke quietly.
"You know… we're still kids. It might take time before we become what we were before." He chuckled softly. "You sure nobody's watching?"
Kathey huffed quietly.
"I know, idiot." She tightened her arms around him slightly.
"And no. No one's watching. Leave that to me."
She rested her head against his shoulder.
"Now stop talking… and let me enjoy this."
For the first time in what felt like forever—
they felt whole again.
Later, they finally pulled apart and began talking, telling each other everything about their lives.
No secrets.
No lies.
Just two souls who had found each other again after a very long wait.
