"Don't be surprised, this is the new instructor I got for both of you," Max said with a smile. "He is very competent and strong."
"You really don't have to go to such an extent to help us," Silas said.
Amelia lifted her head from the table at Silas's words, but just went back to eating like nothing had happened.
"Just consider this our investment in your future, you will repay us later," Max said. "Moreover, we are not even paying him, he only wants to help his home planet."
Although the words were said to make Silas accept Sebastian, it was the truth.
"If you say so, Governor Max," Silas bowed to express his gratitude.
"His name is…" Max looked to his right, at Sebastian, who just nodded.
"Sebastian. You may address him as Master Sebastian."
"Good morning, Master Sebastian," both Amelia and Silas greeted this time.
Sebastian just waved it off. "There's no need for so much courtesy."
"You might not know of my reputation on this planet since I am always fighting on the frontline of the Human Empire. Just trust my words and you will be advancing at an extraordinary pace," he bragged, raising his head.
'We got ourselves a rather proud instructor,' Silas thought with a sigh.
Breakfast continued with Sebastian drafting their entire training schedule.
Amelia complained as she saw the amount of time they had to dedicate to training each day from henceforth.
"How do we even advance our cultivation if all we do is just train?" she asked, unable to bottle her thoughts anymore.
Sebastian looked at her for a while, then spoke.
"Instead of explaining, why don't I ask you a question?" Sebastian stroked his chin.
"Take, for example, an Expert-rank cultivator who has mastered their aether enhancement to insane degrees, capable of even shifting all the aether in their body to another place in an instant."
He stopped briefly at his words, glancing at Silas for a moment.
Silas felt the stare. His mind couldn't help but go back to what he had done the previous night against Alfred by infusing his head with all his aether.
"Against a Master-rank cultivator who did not even learn to use their aether enhancement well and went straight to the Master rank. If they both fought, who do you think will win?"
Silas reasoned the question quietly.
Amelia was the same.
Even Max and Alfred were thinking of the answer in their minds.
"The Expert?" Amelia asked, trying to confirm her answer.
Sebastian smiled. "That is impossible. Only a rare few people can cross ranks to defeat their opponents. But the Expert rank can always escape no matter what happens."
Amelia heard the words and nodded.
"But that does not mean you should ignore cultivation too. That's why I added cultivation to your curriculum," Sebastian added.
As they finished eating, everyone stood up, about to go back to their various activities, when suddenly a tearing sound whistled through the air.
A knife flew towards Silas's back.
Clang.
Silas turned back almost immediately, catching the knife with his aether-infused palm.
He looked at the attacker, Sebastian, who just stood there with a smile.
"Good reflexes," he said casually, as if he had not just tried to kill the boy from behind.
'Why am I surrounded by crazy people?' Silas wondered as he looked around with a mental sigh.
"Where are you going? Class starts today. Amelia and Silas, meet me at the training room."
As he said those words, he vanished.
Amelia agreed calmly. She had nothing she was doing anyway.
But Silas was not accepting it lightly. 'My plans for this morning.'
Ultimately, there was nothing he could do. He could at most try to make things fast, even though that seemed unlikely.
In the training room, Silas and Amelia stood side by side, looking at Sebastian with wariness.
In their hands were their katanas.
"What happened? I said hit me with your most powerful attacks," he repeated the words he said a few seconds ago.
"If you don't want to attack him, I will on your behalf," Silas said to Amelia. 'He needs to pay for ruining my plans today too,' he grinned in his mind.
He shot forward, his katana slicing at Sebastian's torso with a force that made all air resistance useless.
Sebastian shifted backwards with the most minimal movement, just enough to avoid the attack.
He was met with a surprise, Amelia was already there, her katana coming down in a cleave targeted at Sebastian's shoulder.
He sidestepped casually, dodging with ease.
Silas moved with a follow-up attack, delivering a straight kick at Sebastian's chest.
The kick connected, releasing a shockwave that sent a rattle through Silas's leg, but Sebastian remained standing, utterly unaffected by the attack.
Amelia, using Silas's shoulder as a push, pounced up, her legs coiling over Sebastian's head.
She twisted with all her might, trying to lift him off the ground with his neck, but Sebastian was unmoved, as if his legs had been rooted to the place he stood.
"Your style of fighting is really chaotic," he said to Amelia. He felt more interested in the girl than even Silas, who was the one with an SSS-tier talent.
Amelia did not comment. She drove her knee into Sebastian's head.
The effect was the same, not a single scratch.
Sebastian finally raised his hand.
"I have seen enough," he said calmly.
In that instant, Amelia's entire view flipped as Sebastian lifted her by her leg with one hand.
He did not throw her, just held her that way before dropping her.
"Both of you are…" before he could complete his statement, Silas's blade drove through his back, passing through without resistance.
Sebastian turned back with a smile.
"You actually managed to hit me."
He was indifferent to the blade that pierced through his body.
Silas just smiled.
"What realm are you?" he asked.
He knew for sure that Sebastian was higher than the mortal realm since the attack did not draw blood, but the exact realm was what he did not know.
"That's my secret," Sebastian whispered, appearing beside Silas in a flicker.
