Chapter 8 - Their Friendship

Leera made sure Nayza was comfortable before pulling the blanket over her.

She adjusted the pillow slightly, brushing a few strands of hair away from Nayza's face.

"Just sleep..." She murmured softly, even though Nayza couldn't hear her.

For a while, she sat there, watching, waiting.

Making sure she was okay. But exhaustion eventually caught up. Leera leaned back against the headboard, intending to stay awake.

And slowly drifted off to sleep.

Morning comes quietly.

Soft light filtered through the curtains, filling the room with a calm warmth.

Nayza stirred.

Still half-asleep, she lifted her hand, brushing her hair away from her face with slow, lazy movements.

Her head felt heavy. But not unbearable.

Without looking around, Without thinking much, she got out of bed and walked straight toward the bathroom.

She freshened up. Let the water run longer than usual, letting it clear the fog in her head, by the time she stepped out. She felt... better. Not fully normal, but aware.

Drying her hair slightly, she walked into the room, heading toward her wardrobe to get ready for university.

And then, she stopped.

Leera.

Sleeping on the bed. Nayza froze for a moment, confusion instantly replacing tha calm, "Le... Leera?" she whispered under her breath, "What is she doing here...?"

She stepped closer and gently shook her, "Leera... wake up."

Leera stirred, eyes still heavy with sleep, "Hmm...?"

"Leera wake up," Nayza said again, this time more clearly. "How are you here? What happened? I don't understand anything."

Leera blinked slowly, trying to process. Then she sat up slightly, rubbing her eyes, "Wait... first I need to use washroom," she said, her voice still sleepy.

Nayza nodded quickly, "Yeah, go... you know where it is?"

Leera gave a small nod, "I used it last night."

She walked toward the washroom.

Nayza stood there, arm crossed unconsciously, waiting. Her mind already racing, trying to connect things she couldn't remember.

As soon as Leera come back, Nayza didn't wait. "What happened," she asked immediately.

Leera looked at her for a second.

Then, She told her everything. About the juice. About Doruk. About how suddenly Nazya fallen asleep. About how they couldn't wake her properly. About bringing her home.

EVERYTHING.

Silence filled the room when she finished, Nayza processed it. Slowly, carefully.

"So..." she spoke at last, her voice quieter now, but sharper.

"Erhaan mixed something in my drink... and gave it to Doruk on purpose?"

Leera nodded, "Yes. That's exactly what happened."

Something shifted in Nayza's expression, calm. But dangerous. "I'm not going to let this go," she said.

Leera crossed her arm slightly.

"Doruk and Yesir are already angry. They are planning to talk with him."

Nayza shook her head immediately.

"NO."

Leera frowned." What do you mean, No?"

"He was wrong," Nayza said firmly, "But I don't want Doruk and Yesir getting into a fight with him because of me."

A pause. Then, more quietly, "I'll handle it."

Leera studied her face, "You're sure?"

"Yes." Then Nayza stepped closer, her tone softening slightly, "Can you tell them not to say anything? Please?"

Leera sighed, "If that's what you want... I'll tell them."

Then she added a little more serious, " but you be careful, okay?"

Nayza gave a small nod, "Nothing will happen. Just call them... please, my bestie."

Leera rolled her eyes lightly, "Okay, fine. You're my best friend I can do this much. But stop saying please."

Nayza smiled faintly, "I'll still say it. Because you're helping me." A pause. Then, softer, "And... thank you. For taking care of me."

Her eyes held something real, "Honestly... I've never had a friend like you before. And I don't want to lose you."

Leera blinked, and shook her head quickly, "Okay, that's enough. Don't get emotional now," she said, trying to brush it off.

"I need to get ready. If I go home now, I'll be late," She stood up and stretched, "Show me your wardrobe. I'll just get ready here and we'll go to university together."

Nayza's expression brightend instantly, "Okay!"

She led her toward the wardrobe, opened it. As leera started picking out clothes Nayza stood there, watching her. A small smile forming. Something soft in her eyes.This... All of this, was new for her. And for the first time in a while, It felt... good. Soon, both of them were ready. They had a quick breakfast together, light. Simple. And then, They left for university.
