Rhys' PoV
I felt her body stiffen against mine before I pulled away. I could feel the eyes on us around the hall. However, I kept my gaze on her.
I'm surprised by how quickly the color had drained from her cheeks, and I also noticed that her left hand was clenched tightly around her purse.
"Surely, even seeing a ghost shouldn't leave you this shaken."
Her eyes met mine, and I'm surprised by how cold they look.
"I'm dining with the devil," she looked around the hall briefly before meeting my gaze again.
"I think that's scarier than ghosts, Alpha Rhys."
Her eyes had this challenging light in them that had me chuckling.
Guess, Rena Mirel was finally revealing her true colors.
In just one day, I had seen so many sides of her, and I couldn't begin to decide which one was real or not.
But if there was anything I knew, the fastest way to know someone was watching them around people they had history with.
