There was something different about Alpha Rhys from the last time I saw him, but I couldn't figure it out now with my thoughts all over the place.
I was moving between worried, scared and hopeful.
My Daisy. Somehow, someone had given Daisy the X10 serum that was created for adults who had awakened their wolves.
The current batch wasn't even ready for human use. I had several adjustments to make after observing how it reacted with animals.
But someone had been cruel enough to give that to a child. To my daughter.
Even though Nancy said it was a lead. I didn't dare to see it that way.
What if Daisy had gotten some complications from using it and truly died?
It also made sense now why they didn't call me when she was sick. Those bastards. I'm sure they had something to do with this.
I was even more determined to make Jason pay.
