I wasn't expecting a warm hug from Rena, but I had been hoping it wouldn't be this cold. Jamie chuckled beside me and I shot him a glare.
He returned the stare. "What, you decided to air her matters publicly without informing her? What were you expecting?"
I looked away, he didn't have to point it out. The whole car ride here, the possibility of Rena not being in cahoots with them had crossed my mind and genuinely, the thought of it scared me.
The way I treated her and what I did at the ball. If she were innocent, then I was completely out of line.
But there was also that part of me, the one that helped me become the man I am today, that still found things a little dubious.
That video came at such a convenient time.
I knocked again, and surprisingly, the door opened, only that this time, it wasn't Rena at the door but the lady who stood behind her earlier.
