The moment Rena climbed into the back seat beside me, a feeling of calm rushed through me.
Nancy sat in front with Jamie while the driver joined the car with my bodyguards.
Randomly, Nancy would ask one or two questions about the work hours, accommodations, and even the work pay.
I told her all the standard agreements for my staff.
However, Rena was awfully quiet. I had noticed it since she saw that video. The moment she saw the video, I had sensed her shoulders go tighter, and even now, she was constantly wringing her hands in her lap.
Rena having a daughter hadn't shown up in my research, but everything made sense now.
This whole time, I had wondered why a woman like her, who could be anything she wanted, would sit around with a man like Jason Reed.
If they had a five-year-old together, it made sense that Rena would constantly give in to his requests.
The thought of Jason having some control over her left a bitter taste in my mouth.
