Chapter 4 - A Chance Meeting, Is It Fate?

It was a sunny day, nice Thursday morning. I found myself on my way to work, walking on the long street that goes along just before you turn off to go to the store and then it happened.

I came upon a beauty walking by and as she walked by me I couldn't help but stop, turn my head to the right and look. She passed by. She looked somewhat familiar and somewhat quite beautiful.

Today it was different though. The dress was different; it was a white dress with strange sleeves, my impression was it looked quite fluffy and puffy. I couldn't quite make heads or tails of anything that was going on so I stood there until someone bumped into me.

Someone bumped into me and said, "Are you okay?" I seemed stuck on something and when I looked again she was gone.

I apologised to the person, said sorry, and went off on my way but on the way I couldn't stop thinking about: was this a fateful encounter?

I arrived at work as I entered the door I stopped after walking through the entrance letting door close behind me, as I couldn't help but wonder: was it the same one that I saw the day before? Was it the one before that? As I was musing this in my mind again, I was left standing and unmoving and blocking the way. Of all people to complain about it was Tim, yes, it's Fluffy Brows the first, the worst person I could possibly want to ask why I'm standing around like a scarecrow.

My retort was quite simple:

I said, "I was thinking about how to pluck your eyebrows. Should I use tape, wax, or perhaps burn them off?" I said that with a bit of a sneer and I continued walking right past, leaving the stunned Tim standing looking like an idiot.

A look that suits him quite well, I must say.

While I was changing into my work uniform, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of the lost face on Tim getting told what he deserves. I felt great about it but then it dawned on me I hadn't figured out what I was thinking.

What I was thinking was: is it the one from the first day or the second? It was quite a shocking revelation to make but I couldn't quite pin which one it was.

They were both so beautiful. We'd find out if there's either one but if there's truly fate, I would rather know.

Knowing would be most opportune and would help me decide what I should do next.

Well that's for after work. For now I should probably get there. I stood there, finished putting on my jacket, and walked to the door and lo and behold there was Tim, still standing like a scarecrow, looking out the door wondering what happened.

I could tell him but I won't.

That nugget is something for myself only. I'll leave that idiot to Stew.
