Rahim and Karim walked out of the cave slowly. Rahim was holding the glowing crystal in his hand. The soft blue light from the crystal was shining on their faces.
Karim looked at the crystal again and again.
"It is so beautiful," he said.
Rahim nodded.
"Yes. But it is also very powerful."
Karim asked, "How do you know?"
Rahim said, "The book said the crystal can show hidden paths and secrets."
Karim smiled.
"Then this can help us find more mysteries!"
Rahim said, "Yes, but we must be careful."
The forest was quiet as they walked back. The sunlight was slowly getting weaker.
Karim said, "Let's go back to the house and test the crystal."
Rahim agreed.
"Yes. That is a good idea."
After some time, they reached the old house.
They quickly went inside and then down to the secret room.
Rahim placed the crystal on the stone table.
The crystal started glowing brighter.
Suddenly, a thin line of light came out of the crystal.
The light moved across the wall.
Karim looked surprised.
"Rahim, look at that!"
Rahim watched carefully.
The light stopped on one part of the wall.
That part of the wall started shining.
Rahim said, "There is something hidden there."
Karim went closer and touched the wall.
Suddenly, a small part of the wall opened.
Inside, there was a small space.
Karim looked inside.
"There is something here," he said.
He took out a small metal object.
It looked like an old key, but it was different from the golden key.
Rahim said, "Another key!"
Karim smiled.
"This house has many secrets."
Rahim said, "And the crystal is helping us find them."
Karim looked at the crystal.
"What else can it do?"
Rahim picked up the crystal again.
"Let's try it in another room," he said.
They went back to the main hall.
Rahim held the crystal in front of him.
The light came out again.
This time, it showed a path on the floor.
The path looked like a glowing line.
Karim said, "It is showing us where to go!"
Rahim nodded.
"Yes. Let's follow it."
They followed the glowing path.
The path led them to an old closed door.
Karim said, "This door was always here. But we never opened it."
Rahim said, "Maybe now we can."
Karim tried to open the door.
But it was locked.
Rahim said, "Try the new key."
Karim used the new metal key.
He put it in the lock and turned it.
Click.
The door opened.
Both boys looked inside.
It was a small room.
Inside, there were many old pictures and papers on the walls.
Karim looked at them carefully.
"These look like records of the house," he said.
Rahim found an old paper on a table.
It had some writing on it.
He read it slowly.
"It says… 'The crystal must be protected. If it falls into the wrong hands, it can cause great danger.'"
Karim became serious.
"Danger?" he said.
Rahim nodded.
"Yes. This is not just a simple object."
Karim said, "Then we must keep it safe."
Rahim agreed.
"Yes. We should not tell anyone about it."
Suddenly, they heard a noise outside the room.
Both boys became alert.
Karim whispered, "Did you hear that?"
Rahim nodded.
"Yes. Someone is here."
They quickly turned off the torch.
The room became dark.
They listened carefully.
Footsteps could be heard in the hall.
Karim said softly, "Who could it be?"
Rahim said, "I don't know. But we must be careful."
They slowly moved toward the door.
Rahim held the crystal tightly.
They looked outside.
A shadow moved across the hall.
Karim's heart started beating fast.
"There is someone in the house," he whispered.
Rahim said, "We should hide."
They quickly went back inside the room and stayed quiet.
The footsteps came closer.
Then they stopped.
For a moment, everything was silent.
Then they heard a door open somewhere.
Karim whispered, "Maybe it is a thief."
Rahim said, "Or someone who knows about the secret."
They waited quietly.
After some time, the footsteps went away.
Rahim slowly looked outside again.
The hall was empty.
Karim said, "That was scary."
Rahim nodded.
"Yes. Now we know that we are not alone."
Karim asked, "What should we do now?"
Rahim said, "We must protect the crystal."
Karim said, "And we must find out who came here."
Rahim looked at the crystal.
The light was glowing softly again.
"It will help us," he said.
Karim smiled.
"Yes. We will solve this mystery."
The boys felt stronger now.
They knew that the adventure was becoming more dangerous.
But they were ready.
The mystery of the old stone was getting bigger with every step.
