Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 7

EVAN SEVILLE

Working hours are over, and I was already driving my way home, thinking Amelia was already at home, relaxing or perhaps cooking dinner for us.

...

Or maybe a sleeping beauty in our bed.

I stopped on a red light, drumming my fingers on the wheel as I hummed in tune with the music I am blasting in my car, when it stopped and was replaced by a ringtone.

I looked on the screen of my car in the middle, seeing Amelia's name popped up. I tapped the green button quickly, and drove when the light turned green, "yes, sweetheart? What does my beautiful wide need?"

"Hi, Evan, um.. Are you, by any chance, driving your way to our home?.." Her voice was raspy and a bit nervous, making me frown, "yeah, why?.." I was unsure of what situation she was in— My mine was making possibilities.

"Nothing, I just—"

"Amelia, you better tell me, woman. We've talked about this. Don't be hesitant towards me, I'm your husband." I reminded her gently, watching my tone, stopping my car somewhere I could park, then looked at my watch, seeing that it was 8 in the evening.

"I'm sorry, it's just that.. I, uh, work overtime, because one of the colleagues had ditch out on me by saying he would go out for a smoke.. And when I went to ask for his help for lifting up some heavy boxes, he was, uh, gone.. So, I had to do it.. " I gripped the stirring wheel when she explained, her voice cracking a little. She must've been so tired, especially lifting those heavy boxes, which was a man's duty.

"I'm picking you up," I stepped the pedal hard, turning the wheel, making my car screeched.

"Okay, but can you at least be careful?" Her voice held with worry, "I will, but there are no cars as of the moment, so I'll be driving reckless because some prick ditch my wife with their supposed duty. Especially, I know the streets there, and it's dangerous. Stay inside the café, alright, darlin'? And stay in the line with me, talk to me." I said firmly, yet gentle.

"Okay, after you pick me up, can you cook dinner?.. I know it's my turn to cook, but I'm tired today—"

"It's fine, I'll take care of you. Always. Bear that in mind," She only hummed in response, hearing her on the other line, moving around— Probably, still cleaning.

I gripped the stirring wheel, knuckles going white as I drove past the red lights— I mean, who the fuck has the audacity to leave a woman with a man's duty? ESPECIALLY, with my wife to do it— I reached the café in record time, getting out of the car, call ending when Amelia heard my car and came out of the café.

The moment I saw her, I knew what she needed the most. My heart swelled up with love when I saw the look on her face; exhaustion and fatigue. I watched her closed down the café, walked towards me as I leaned on my car. She stood in front of me, her eyes looking up at me, tears were threatened to fall as she held them back.

She was always being left behind to close down the café— The employee who she was left with at night to close down the café, was always the same person who would ditched her with the unfinished tasks.. She never complained about it, but her body was. I've already talked to her about this, about her quitting and find another café.

She was stubborn, she enjoyed this café. Yet her body was showing signs of fatigue and exhaustion. It was rejecting the energy.

I reached for her hand and pulled her into a hug, held her hand against my chest, kissing the top of her head. My other hand made patterns on her back as it moved to sooth her, then patting it gently.

She trembled in my arms.

She cried silently.

She wasn't saying anything at all.

I snapped, this was enough. Enough for me to lose my mind and to make sure my wife was happy at all times. This was something I could not accept.

After comforting her, she went slightly limp on me, falling asleep. I didn't mind, knowing how tired she was. I took care of her, and when we got home, I prepared her a bath, her night gown, dinner and woke her up to eat and then let her sleep again, massage her feet while she was asleep.

And lastly, laid down beside her with my arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her close as I flushed my chest against her back gently. She stirred a bit, turning around and burying her face on my chest as her leg placed on my waist together with her arm.

I watched her sleep, admiring her sleeping form, adored her face as I reached my hand to caress it, pinching her cheek softly. Then I moved down and pressed my lips against her forehead, muttering, "I love you, my sunshine.."

I pulled back to see if she would be awake, but no. She was sleeping peacefully. I could still see the fatigue, the bags under her eyes as I gently caressed it with my thumb. Her lips that was always so plum and so kissable, now chapped and dry, pale.

"You really need to quit that café.." I let out a sign of frustration, muttering quietly to myself as I hugged her closed and placing my chind above her head, when Amelia suddenly replied, "I don't want to.." her voice rasped.

I looked down at her when she looked up at me, she stared at me with those pleading eyes. I shook my head, "Amelia, dear.. Look at you, you've been working there for weeks, and ever since you started, you look like a mess... You even couldn't take care of yourself like you used to before.."

My voice trailed off when I felt something warm pressed against my lips. I closed my eyes and immediately responded as I kissed her back, cupping her face and pulled her closed for a deeper kiss with my tongue invading her mouth that made her release a soft sound.

"Evan, listen to me.." She wanted to assure me about her, but I didn't let her finish. I continued kissing her, sucking her bottom lip and biting it gently. My hand slowly slid from knees to her ass, squeezing it gently, making her moan.

My hand then slid inside her night gown, already finding her wet between her slits— Amelia preferred to sleep without any undergarments beneath the night gowns, that's why it was easy for me to access her— I slid my fingers between her slits, earning a whimper from her while I still kept kissing her.

I pulled back and kissed her forehead, "You listen to me, Amelia. You're going to quit that job, and I'll find you a new work, don't worry about it. But for tonight, don't think about anything. Just feel me." My teeth grazed against her ear when I leaned forward. She shivered, giving in when I saw her nodding slowly. I licked my lips.

"You're mine tonight.."
