Jay-Jay's POV
Sir Alvin kept writing on the board.
Chalk scratching against the surface.
"Focus on the formula," he said calmly.
Everyone opened their notebooks.
Pages turning.
Pens moving.
But the classroom didn't feel normal.
The air felt heavy.
Like everyone was waiting for something.
I kept my eyes on my notebook.
I could feel their eyes behind me.
Section E.
Someone whispered softly.
"Jay-Jay…"
I didn't move.
My pen kept writing.
Another voice spoke.
"Please… just listen to us."
Still nothing.
I didn't turn around.
I didn't answer.
Beside me, David shifted in his seat.
C_in looked forward, pretending not to notice anything.
Behind us, someone sighed.
"We're really sorry," another voice said quietly.
Sir Alvin suddenly turned around.
"Is there a problem back there?"
The classroom went silent immediately.
"No, sir," someone replied.
Sir Alvin looked at the class for a moment, then continued the lesson.
But the whispers didn't completely stop.
They were quieter now.
More careful.
Trying again.
"Jay-Jay…"
I clenched my pen tighter.
Across the room, Yuri sat quietly at his desk.
Serious.
Watching.
No smile.
No words.
And then there was Keifer.
Sitting near the back.
Silent.
Not calling my name.
Not apologizing.
Not trying to get my attention like the others.
He just sat there.
Watching everything.
Like he already understood that I wasn't going to listen.
For some reason…
That silence from him
felt louder than all the apologies behind me.
And I hated that it bothered me more than anything else.
