Her fingers curled into fists.
"But you…" her voice darkened. "You didn't deserve to be part of it."
"And since he took someone so precious to me…" she continued slowly, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, "…if I ever get the chance to take someone precious from him…"
"I will. An eye for an eye. Blood for blood…" Aria murmured, a faint, bitter smile forming on her lips. "That's one of the Mafia's slogans, isn't it?"
Her gaze softened as she looked around Eve's room one last time.
"And once I'm settled… once I'm finally safe…" she continued quietly, her voice laced with both pain and determination, "I'll come back for you. I'll take your remains away from here and bury you properly just like Mother was buried."
"You deserve the best… even in death, Eve," she whispered. "I love you so much."
Then, with a shaky breath, Aria turned and walked out of the room.
