Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 – The Hidden Chamber

Chapter 12 – The Hidden Chamber

The city was still half-asleep when Ronan left his small rented room.

A thin layer of morning mist hung above the streets, and the sky was only beginning to turn pale with the first signs of dawn.

Most people were still inside their homes.

But hunters and adventurers were different.

For them, early mornings meant opportunity.

Ronan walked through the quiet streets with steady steps. His equipment felt familiar now—the steel adventurer's dagger at his waist, the Goblin Hunter Gloves wrapped around his hands, and the two rings resting comfortably on his fingers.

The Agility Ring.

And the Storage Ring.

Just thinking about the storage ring made Ronan feel slightly excited. The space inside it allowed him to gather far more materials than before. What used to be a small hunt had now become a profitable venture.

By the time he reached the dungeon entrance, the sun had risen above the horizon.

The swirling portal stood in the same place as yesterday, twisting quietly like a pool of dark water.

A few adventurers had already gathered.

Some of them looked confident.

Others were clearly inexperienced.

Ronan walked toward the guard and placed a gold coin on the table.

The guard raised an eyebrow.

"You again?"

Ronan nodded.

"Going back in?"

"Yes."

The guard shrugged and gestured toward the portal.

"Good luck."

Ronan didn't reply.

He simply stepped forward and entered the dungeon.

---

The familiar sensation of weightlessness returned for a brief moment.

Then—

His boots touched stone.

The dim cave air surrounded him once again.

The faint green glow of moss lit the walls, just like before.

But this time Ronan didn't hesitate.

He moved deeper into the dungeon with confidence.

Yesterday he had only explored the first section before encountering the boss chamber.

But he suspected something.

Dungeons were rarely that simple.

There were usually more paths, hidden corners, and unexplored areas.

And sometimes…

Secrets.

---

Not long after entering, Ronan heard movement ahead.

Two goblins stepped out from a side tunnel.

"Grrrk!"

They rushed toward him.

Ronan didn't slow down.

His body moved instinctively.

He dodged the first goblin's attack and slashed across its chest.

The creature collapsed instantly.

The second goblin swung wildly, but Ronan stepped aside and drove his dagger forward.

The blade pierced through the creature's throat.

The goblin fell beside its companion.

---

Blue text appeared.

[Goblin defeated]

EXP +15

[Goblin defeated]

EXP +15

---

Ronan calmly collected their hearts and stored them inside the storage ring.

The process was almost effortless now.

He barely had to touch the items.

They simply vanished into the ring's internal space.

"Convenient," he muttered.

Then he continued forward.

---

The dungeon tunnels twisted deeper underground.

Several more goblins appeared along the way.

Some attacked alone.

Others moved in pairs.

But none of them posed much of a threat anymore.

Ronan's improved agility allowed him to avoid most attacks easily.

His dagger strikes had also become faster and more precise.

Within an hour, he had defeated nearly a dozen goblins.

The experience slowly accumulated.

But Ronan wasn't focused on leveling today.

He was searching for something else.

Something unusual.

---

Eventually, he returned to the large chamber where he had defeated the Goblin Boss yesterday.

The massive corpse was gone.

Most dungeon monsters disappeared after a certain time.

But the room itself remained the same.

Broken bones scattered across the floor.

Fragments of old weapons.

And the crude stone throne.

Ronan stepped carefully into the room.

His eyes scanned every corner.

"Hmm…"

Something felt different.

Yesterday he had been focused entirely on the fight.

Now that the room was quiet, he could observe more carefully.

He slowly approached the stone throne.

The structure looked primitive, built from stacked rocks.

But when Ronan walked around it, something caught his attention.

Behind the throne—

There was a crack in the wall.

A narrow opening partially hidden by shadows.

Ronan frowned slightly.

He was almost certain that opening hadn't been obvious yesterday.

He approached cautiously.

The crack was just wide enough for a person to slip through.

Cold air drifted from the other side.

Ronan tightened his grip on the dagger.

"Hidden path?"

Curiosity pushed him forward.

He stepped through.

---

The passage was narrow and silent.

Ronan moved slowly, staying alert for any monsters.

But strangely, there were none.

After walking for several minutes, the tunnel suddenly opened into a small underground room.

Ronan stopped.

His eyes widened slightly.

The chamber looked completely different from the rest of the dungeon.

Instead of rough stone, the walls were smoother.

And in the center of the room stood a small stone pedestal.

On top of it rested a wooden chest.

Dust covered the lid.

Ronan approached carefully.

His heart was beating faster now.

"A treasure chest…"

These were rare inside low-level dungeons.

But sometimes hidden rooms contained special rewards.

He checked the surroundings carefully.

No traps.

No monsters.

Slowly, Ronan opened the chest.

The lid creaked softly.

Inside were three objects.

A folded piece of dark cloth.

A small glowing stone.

And a thin metal bracelet.

Ronan picked up the bracelet first.

The system activated immediately.

---

---

Ronan froze.

"Epic…?"

His eyes widened.

He had heard about epic equipment before.

But they were extremely rare.

Even experienced adventurers struggled to obtain them.

And yet—

He had just found one in a hidden dungeon chamber.

Ronan slowly put the bracelet on his wrist.

The moment it touched his skin, he felt a strange energy connect with him.

A new sensation appeared in his mind.

An ability.

He focused slightly.

In the next instant—

His body flickered.

And suddenly he stood several meters away.

Ronan looked behind him in shock.

"That… was instant."

A short teleport.

In combat, that ability could be incredibly powerful.

His heartbeat quickened.

"This changes everything."

---

Next, Ronan picked up the glowing stone.

The system displayed its information.

---

[Item Identified]

Medium Energy Crystal

---

"Nice."

Energy crystals always sold well.

Finally, he picked up the folded cloth.

It turned out to be a lightweight cloak.

---

Silent Hunter Cloak (Rare)

Bonus Effects:

+2 Agility

Reduces movement noise.

---

Ronan smiled faintly.

"Another good item."

This hidden room had given him far more rewards than he expected.

But as he finished examining the chest, something else happened.

The system screen appeared again.

---

[Hidden Area Cleared]

---

A second notification followed.

---

[Level Up]

---

Ronan opened his status window.

---

---

Ronan exhaled slowly.

Level 7.

And his agility had increased dramatically thanks to the new equipment.

Now his movements felt even lighter.

Faster.

Sharper.

For a moment he simply stood there, thinking.

Yesterday he had entered this dungeon as a beginner.

Today he had discovered a hidden chamber and obtained an Epic item.

His progress was faster than he ever imagined.

But he knew something important.

The world outside was far bigger than this small goblin dungeon.

Stronger monsters existed.

Stronger hunters too.

And if he wanted to survive among them…

He needed to keep growing.

Ronan turned toward the narrow tunnel leading back to the main dungeon.

But just before leaving, he looked once more at the empty treasure chest.

A small smile appeared on his face.

"Hidden rooms…"

"If more dungeons have these…"

Then the possibilities were endless.

Ronan stepped back into the tunnel.

The dungeon was quiet again.

But somewhere deeper in the world, new challenges were waiting.

And Ronan intended to find them.
