Chapter 11 BEST FRIENDS
The kids sat on an open field along with Wifred and Barron, obviously roasting another steak of wolf meat. Turns out sir Barron had a large appetite to go with his loud voice.
Lan chuckled silently
Slade stood at the far end in his usual silence.
Wifred was briefing them of their current battle and what they did wrong and what they should have easily done.
Barron munched down on some meat, grumpily adding to the mix.
"Why do we have to fight danger beast without weapons!"
Billy frown.
"That's because it's better to feel the proper flow of your energy when face with sudden danger. Your spirit weapons are unique to you in every way, you just have to be patient for it to unlock, like Sylver over"
They turned to face Sylver whose attention was focused on her silver white hair, trying to get dirt....and blood of it.
"I think there's a lake not too far from here, go take your time and wash yourselves"
Wifred said.
She nodded.
"I can come with you if you want"
Lan said.
Slyver gave him a dark glare causing him to look down.
She walked away.
"You'll get yourself killed soon, you know that right?"
Byron glanced at Lan.
"Small but fierce "
Wifred laughed.

Slyver spotted the lake behind some tall trees and sat beside it. She exhaled as she looked at her reflection in the flowing water.
The scenery was nice and peaceful, with green grass around and the tall trees waving with the sound of the soft wind, better than the sound of annoying boys.
Slyver was one who enjoys nature when she gets the chance to, just like the beautiful waterfall some short distance in front of her.....
She smiled
....and the boy with red hair falling down from the height of the waterfall.
'Wait, what?
She cleaned her eyes and looked again.
Indeed a boy with red hair was falling from the height of the waterfall.....along with an octopus 🐙 like beast.
"Whoaaaaaaaa...."
The boy fell into the river with a splash.

Back when Roman was meditating at the river side, a looming presence was slowly advancing towards him. He was too slow to react to the sudden tentacles that sprout out of the water and grabbed him.
"Whoaaaaaa....."
The next thing he knew, he was inhaling water.
The inside of the river was bright at first but slowly became dark as the strange creature pulled him to the bottom.
Roman struggled to breathed, but he quickly reacted by channeling energy into his eyes and lungs.
He looked below him to see the black octopus like beast with red glowing with a single horn.
The beast looked at him with hunger in its eyes.
"An advanced ranked beast"
Roman thought.
"This is gonna be tough, I better do something before I run out of air"
Channeling energy to his blade, he slashed at the tentacle holding him.
"Skriiiiiiii....."
The beast let out a low shriek, it was not pleased one bit
The tentacle grew right before his eyes.
Crap.
He managed to reach the surface and drew in so air.. before two tentacles burst out and pulled him in again.
The beast pulled him in faster this time, wanting to drown his prey quicker.
I will not be your food, not today, not ever!'
Holding his katana firmly, he slashed the tentacles then dove deeper into the water, using spirit energy to propel himself.
The beast shrieked again and launched multiple tentacles at him but he kept slashing and slashing, but more kept coming. An octopus have eight tentacles, but this beast got many.
Before he knew it, he was surrounded by tentacles that seems to be endless.
Damn it!
Channeling more energy into his katana blade, he released two red slashes of energy which servered all the tentacles in one goal.
The beast growled and stared at him with dark fury. It paused for a while letting most of its grow back.
They grew with speed.
By now the waters were black with the creature's blood, making it difficult for Roman to see.
Air!!
Roman was slowly being drained of spirit energy, the new skill he had used drains enough already, yet he had just used it twice.
He swam upwards.
The octopus growled then released a strange dark liquid from it's under.
Squid ink!!
Roman's mind screamed, but the ink had already covered the area.
Yet he persisted and swam forward with a burst of energy.
Before he knew it, he burst out of the edge of the waterfall, falling.... down?
"Whoaaaaaaaaa..."
The fall was high, but luckily, he landed in another body of water with a big splash 🌊.
Few seconds later another bigger splash followed.
Roman took in breaths as he emerged from the water, coughing some out of his mouth, then quickly swam to the shore.
Bringing his upper body above shore, he took in fresh breaths, then paused upon sensing a presence.
He looked up, then frown in confusion, a cute little girl with silver white hair was staring back at him.
"I think I drank too much water, now I'm hallucinating Slyver"
Slyver stared at him with surprise on her face, her eyes a little bit lost.
"Roman?"
She called out with a soft smile.
Roman's eyes widen... I'm not hallucinating!
"Slyver? He was truly surprised
"What are you.....whoa...!"
He was pulled back in, the beast was really persistent.
Sylver suddenly frown with glowing eyes, then dove into the water.
She swam really fast as if the water was her natural habitat and caught up with Roman really quick. Summoning her shield, she sliced of the tentacles holding Roman then flung her shield with full force towards the direction of the beast.
BANG!
The shield collided with the head of the beast, impaling and dipping into the skull with a bang, causing more blood to fill the water.
Without waiting, Sylver grabbed Roman and sped upwards.
She burst out of the water and landed on the shore, pulling Roman with her.
"Are you okay?"
She asked with worried look.
Roman took a moment to catch his breath, then looked at her and smiled.
"How are you so fast in the water?"
She smiled.
"You know my spirit beast is a Turtle, right? So I have some affinity to water. I can't control water yet, but I can move freely and breathe under. But only for a limited amount of time though"
"I always say you were awesome"
He patted her head, then looked in the water.
"It's not dead yet, I need to kill that beast"
He stood up, holding his katana firmly.
"But you barely have spirit energy left"
She said.
"I know, but it's enough for one strike, better make it count"
He was determined. The beast wrecked his peace, he wasn't going to let it off easily.
"Alright then "
She stretched her hands towards the water and her shield flew out and landed on her grip.
"You deliver the final strike, I'll be your shield"
Her eyes tilted.
If anyone was see them right now, they'll think that the two kids were crazy, plotting against an advanced ranked beast.
The octopus was an advanced ranked beast, a beast more powerful than the basic and secondary ranked danger beast, yet two kids were planning to end it's life.
Of course they were both crazy.
Sylver held Roman's hand and they both dived into the water.
Sylver swam with speed, with her eyes glowing with literal excitement. Indeed she was excited. It's has been a while she played with Roman, now he's right here, and they're currently about to have fun.
The octopus was at the bed of the river, obviously healing from it's wound.
It looked up to see it's meal returning.
It growled, more angrier than before.
It launched all it's tentacles towards them but Slyver stretched out her shield and it transformed into a dome like structure, covering them completely.
The tentacles wrapped around the dome shield, but strangely it kept on pushing deeper, until it banged against the head of the beasts
The beast shrieked again, dazed for a while, but before it could clear it's eyes, Roman was already right in front of it with a red glowing blade held high.
Gritting his teeth, he brought the sword down, putting all his energy into one slash.
A bright light flashed for a second and the beast froze in place. Slowly the top conner of its head floated to the side revealing it's cleaved brain.
It began to sink, dead.
Roman was already out of air, but he forced himself so salvage the beast remains and brought out a glowing crystals.
Upon seeing the crystal, Sylver held him and sped out the water.
