Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: First Containment Operation

Hmm.

William had no objections to the operational plan.

Mainly because he did not know much about military operations and could not offer any useful suggestions.

However, William still asked Andre: "Colonel, what is the population of that town? Are there any survivors?"

About two thousand. Since the Canadian military has implemented a signal blockade on the town in accordance with the signed terms, it is uncertain exactly how many survivors there are.

Oh? Is that so?

Upon hearing the answer, William pondered for a moment, then ordered the UBCS sitting in front of him:

Soldiers, whenever you see surviving civilians, you are to implement containment measures and classify them as D-Class Personnel.

If you encounter strong resistance, you are authorized to shoot and kill them. You must not let what happened in this town leak out.

We cannot let the World fall into panic because of a small group of people.

Furthermore, after this incident, the dominant power will no longer be the government, but us, Umbrella.

So everyone, keep my orders in mind.

Yes! All the UBCS nodded in agreement.

Having been assimilated, their loyalty was all above ninety.

Although not to the same degree as the USS, they would still absolutely execute William's orders.

As for Andre, who was nearby, it was impossible for him to have any dissatisfaction.

This old, sturdy man even felt a bit gratified...

Believing that William was truly no longer as dissolute as before.

After all, being decisive in killing is the basic quality that the boss of a monopoly enterprise should have.

Not bad! William seemed very satisfied with the UBCS's response and smiled, saying:

This time I have brought strong reinforcements for your company. I wish you a successful containment!

Yes! Boss!

The firepower configuration of the UBCS company is as follows;

A squad consists of six people.

Squad Leader: Responsible for command, rank is generally Corporal or Sergeant.

Rifleman: Carries a large number of rifle magazines.

Support Soldier: Carries a large number of rifle magazines, acts as the Squad Leader's deputy.

Breacher: Equipped with shotguns and submachine guns, as well as demolition equipment.

Machine Gunner: Light machine gun firepower output unit.

Grenadier: Rifle equipped with an under-barrel grenade launcher, possesses a large number of grenades.

A platoon consists of five squads, Platoon Leader rank is Staff Sergeant or Second Lieutenant.

A company consists of four platoons, Company Commander rank is Lieutenant or Captain.

The sky was exceptionally clear.

There were not many clouds blocking the moonlight.

And in this night sky, two large Umbrella transport planes, the An-124, were flying towards a town in the west called Athabasca.

Since the distance between Hafa City and Athabasca is about four thousand kilometers, after William and Andre finalized the operational policy...

At 11:00 PM local time in Halifax on January 27, 2007, the two An-124 transport planes took off rapidly.

Carrying one hundred and twenty UBCS and three Tyrants, they flew rapidly at an altitude of thirteen thousand meters.

Due to the three-hour time difference, the UBCS company would arrive over Athabasca at approximately 12:30 AM local time.

Inside the cabin of an An-124;

sixty UBCS were fully equipped, wearing special helmets and gas masks hanging in front of them.

Each of them held their firearms and sat in their respective seats.

Some people had nervous facial expressions, indicating they were feeling very apprehensive.

Others looked indifferent, and some could even sleep soundly in the noisy environment of the engine sound.

This was Umbrella's first large-scale military containment operation.

When the UBCS Soldiers were recruited, they were informed that supernatural events existed in this World.

Although they had absolute loyalty to their boss, they still could not help but doubt the truth of it.

Until now, they completely believed it.

The veterans were naturally prepared long ago, while the new recruits appeared a bit immature.

Especially in the seats at the back of the cabin, there was a gray-skinned 'person' acting as support.

This made the new recruits both afraid and curious, and they even felt vaguely excited about the upcoming operation.

Beep! Suddenly...

the warning light on the rear cabin door lit up, and the pilot's voice came over the radio:

All members, we are expected to arrive over the target in three minutes. Please prepare.

This series of movements caused the UBCS Soldiers in the cabin to stand up and begin checking their equipment.

They put on their gas masks and connected them to oxygen tanks, confirmed the airtightness of their suits, and checked if there were any issues with their parachutes.

The Tyrants also stood up behind the cabin door, waiting for orders.

The operation Commander, who was also the company Commander of this UBCS company, Captain Mikhail Victor, stood at the cabin door and shouted to the group of Soldiers:

Listen up, brats! The boss and the Colonel have entrusted the first containment operation to our company, so we must not fail the company's expectations of us!

Most importantly! We must make that group of USS open their eyes and watch, that we UBCS are the main force responsible for the company's military operations!

Extinguish the arrogance of that special forces group for me, do you hear me!

Oorah! The Soldiers' morale soared under Victor's mobilization, and they all roared in response.

Hmm! This is how Company A should be! Victor also laughed loudly.

Beep! Immediately after, there was another harsh reminder, and the red lights in the cabin began to dim.

At the same time, the rear cabin door began to open slowly.

Whoosh! Due to the difference in air pressure inside and outside the cabin, the airflow immediately began to swirl, and the temperature dropped sharply.

The cabin, which had been a bit noisy, began to fall into silence, and everyone was staring at the signal light.

Just a few seconds later, the red signal light went out, and was replaced by a green light.

Seeing this, Victor grabbed the handle, gestured outward with his left hand, and shouted over the headset communication:

First Platoon! Get down there first!

Yes, Captain!

The Tyrants also heard Victor's order, and while only wearing deceleration parachutes, their massive bodies jumped directly out of the An-124 cabin.

Following closely behind were the thirty UBCS of the First Platoon.

In just a few dozen seconds, this An-124 had completed its airdrop mission, and the pilot also said with a smile over the communication:

Boys, remember to give this flight a five-star review. Also, have a happy hunt.

At the same time, the other An-124 also completed the deployment of the other sixty UBCS and two Tyrants.

Subsequently, the two large transport planes turned their headings together, headed back to Troy Base in the east, and left this airspace.

Shortly after; the UBCS company and the three Tyrants were accurately dispersed on three sides of the town of Athabasca, forming a siege formation.

The location where Company Commander Victor was, was on the south side of the town.

While observing the town, he used the communication system to order the company:

Everyone put on night vision goggles. No one is allowed to act alone. You must conduct the search by squad.

Second Platoon, First Squad, deploy the drone into the air so the command post can see the situation clearly.

No one is allowed to turn on their helmet's live broadcast camera without receiving an order.

Remember! When you encounter survivors, prioritize containment over shooting. Do not have any mercy.

After seeing unknown creatures, confirm if they have hostility. Once there is an aggressive tendency, shoot to kill immediately.

Yes, Captain.

Move out.
