Some time has passed during the nineteen students going through their time as second year students here in UA for the first week. But then they were then asked by Hayami to meet the new first year students of class 1a as they heard of these students and one of them ranked the highest in the entrance exam. Not to mention that class 1a has a homeroom teacher and its Shota Aizawa also known as Eraserhead.
But before they could meet the new class 1a, they had to do their own work in class 2a as Hayami is seen giving a subtle lesson to his students. But then Midnight knocked at the door frame getting Hayami's attention "is it time?"
Midnight nodded "yes, Aizawa and his students are waiting at the training area"
Hayami nodded as he smiled then he looked at his students "everyone follow Midnight, I will follow shortly"
Each student followed Midnight out to the training area though they had to get back into their training uniforms as in the room they all saw the first year students of class 1a. From the sight it looked to be a mixed cast of students, some looked tall, some looked very short, and all looked different, but their faces and stance were normal for students they had Aizawa as their homeroom teachers. While they observed the students of the first year also observed them and making one obvious factor, they have nineteen students while they have twenty. They all wondered about why an upper class of the hero course had fewer students, meanwhile a green haired boy was writing something in his notebook as he took subtle sights on certain students. Specifically Goshi because he has a sword and has a calm aura, Poller's large polar bear body, Uni's tightened slinky limbs, and many more that he wrote down.
They all stand in a separate line for the others to watch them.
"These are the second year students of the hero course, they looked serious"
"You're right, but why do they have nineteen students?"
"If these upper extras can do it without a full class then their over their head"
They all sighed as they knew what kind of question they had for them, but then Hayami walked into the training area and regrouped with Aizawa and Midnight. "Sorry for the wait, Aizawa I'll let you take the ropes"
Aizawa nodded and looked at his students of class 1a "today we will be holding a joint training sessions with second year students of class 2a, it will be a one vs one match, any questions"
They all raised their hands "is it about a missing student" they all lowered their hands, Aizawa sighed "if you are all wondering, the reason why class 2a has only nineteen students because none of the other classes cannot meet the prerequisites that Hayami played out in his class. The key adaptation and improvisation"
Then one of his students raised his hand and adjusted his glasses "but sir isn't all hero course classes always have twenty students, and if we're going to have this one on one fighting session then if there is an unbalance amount of students then how are we going to have a proper session"
Aizawa nodded "good eye, that is why this isn't a normal training session as Hayami's class is focused on adaptation, this will be a way to learn how each of you will react to each of his students. But don't expect this to be easy that just because they are a student short doesn't mean they are weak"
Then a board shows them who is facing who as it was designed by Midnight herself as it shows the first round being Poller Maximoff vs Eijiro Kirishima. Kirishima was pumped to face off against a large opponent especially a second year student, when the round began he activated his hardening quirk and charged at him, and readied his fist. But Poller got onto all fours and ran at him and raised his right arm and swung down with his claw catching Kirishima off guard as he was swung away. He landed onto the ground as he felt the impact then he looked and saw Poller charging at him. Poller leaped in the air and slammed his elbow onto Kirishima, taking him out and winning the first round. Class 1a was shocked to see how easily Kirishima was defeated.
But Midoriya wrote down on his notebook, "with the size of Poller's body it makes sense to use the most logical way and act how a real polar bear would move"
Aizawa crosses his arms "this is what I meant as to not just them by who they are unless showed first hand"
Next round is Mina Ashido vs Hino Ayamato, before the battle began Hino then started to do subtle jumps as he is showing off his new technique called 'Hype up' as it allows him to prepare himself for the move he is going to use. Then when the battle began Mina fired off her acid and Hino dodged to the right and swung his feet into a flare breakdancing that his legs fired many blasts at her. Then leapt off to his feet and did some more dance moves and fired more at her not giving her a chance to retaliate, it was the effect of Hype up giving him the advantage. Hino later won the round.
Next is Tenya Iida vs Shin Kuroda, Iida bowing "I am honoured to have the chance to fight you" Kuroda nodded. Then the round began, Iida ran towards Kuroda but he placed his hands onto the ground and summoned a field of static shock around him. Iida noticed too late as he was caught as he was immobilized by Kuroda's static bind, and his move 'static field'. Mizuno and Flare blushed at the sight that Kuroda won the match effortlessly as he was oblivious to their attention towards him.
Next is Shoto Todoroki vs Blaze Cainza, though before it began Blaze showed up large and fat again as class 1a didn't know how to react. But when Midoriya looked at class 2a their faces were calm as if they were accounting for this "there must be more than to what Cainza can show?" Then when the battle began Todoroki fired off a bundle of ice, but Blaze tanked the hit steam started to emit from his body as his body transformed back into his physical form as his body glowed a bright red colour. Blaze stretched his shoulder "that's better, lets do this properly" then Blaze charged at Shoto, his eyes widened as Shoto fired more ice at Blaze. But Blaze melted the ice and broke through and used the ice to cool down his body, but Blaze did feel that Todoroki was holding back as there was something inside him that was holding him back. He didn't let the thought pass him as he broke through the ice and defeated Todoroki. They were shocked to see one of the strongest in their class getting defeated by someone who can melt through ice, but Bakugo crosses his arms as he expected someone with the quirk advantage would defeat someone like him.
Then it went on for a couple of rounds as class 1a did lose some rounds but did win some rounds thanks to Katsuki Bakugo's explosion's and Fumikage Tokoyami's dark shadow. But when it came down to the final round there was only Mashirao Ojiro and Izuku Midoriya from class 1a against Hakirai Goshi from class 2a, this was the surprise of the training session as if there are two participates left then they would have to face the last student in class 2a.
Midoriya looked at Goshi. "Goshi is said to be the strongest in class 2a, but how does his sword beam work on me or Ojiro?"
Ojiro and Midoriya walked onto the arena as Goshi also walked onto the arena and unsheathed his sword as it beamed with energy. "Midoriya looked, Goshi's sword that must be his quirk" "we cannot take any chances if Goshi's quirk comes from his sword then we must disarm him"
Then when the round started Goshi fired sword beam slashes at them as they quickly dodged out of the way. Ojiro leaped and swung his tail but Goshi used his instincts and blocked the attack from above, "fast reaction" Ojiro thought as he narrowly dodged a swing from Goshi's sword. Midoriya observed and found an opening and dashed forward to swing at Goshi; he saw and embraced the impact as he was pushed back away from Ojiro. Both Midoriya and Ojiro regrouped together as Goshi wiped his lips and smiled "that is good coordination from you two" he looked at them both "but a simple tactic will only let you far unless you work together and go further beyond" then plunges his sword to the ground catching them off guard "he is disarming himself?"
The rest of class 1a was confused as they thought he was throwing the match, but class 2a and other teachers were prepared as they knew what's about to happen. Goshi puts himself into a stance "let me show you something how we students of Sensei Hayami learn to adapt to our weaknesses to our quirks. Sacred Heart; lightspeed!" Goshi then moved in a blitz of speed catching Midoriya and Ojiro off guard as they cannot see how fast Goshi is going nor they have little to react as Goshi kicked and moved Ojiro out of the way. Midoriya was shocked as he tried to counter with his own attack, but Goshi was going at a whole new speed and punched Midoriya at his stomach taking him out as Goshi won. Everyone in class 1a was shocked to witness Goshi's win as they had thought if that was his quirk or his body. Goshi looked at them all "what you see there isn't my quirk, it was my body trained to a level that I can tense my muscle and go beyond my limits"
Midoriya gets from the ground "so you trained yourself to improve so that you cannot rely on your quirk?"
Goshi nodded "since it is simple to know that my quirk energized sword beams can be countered if I lose my sword. I can counter that problem by doing the opposite make myself the weapon that's my adaption" Goshi points at his chest "my technique Sacred Heart is powerful, but I can only use it ten times before I temporarily cripple my body so I use it sparingly"
Midoriya was amazed by Goshi's raw power from his technique and Ojiro sighed understanding why he is the strongest in class 2a.
Then Aizawa and Hayami walked towards the bleachers to look at everyone as this is the end of the training sessions between first and second year students. They all had new thoughts and respect towards each class when showing their individual strengths, skills, and experience as class 1a will learn to adapt, and class 2a will continue with their current learning along with a new student coming to the class.
