Chapter 17 - Bonnie’s Strange Feeling

Morning sunlight slowly spread across Mystic Falls.

The town looked peaceful as usual.

Birds chirped.

Students walked toward Mystic Falls High School.

Cars passed quietly through the streets.

To ordinary people, everything seemed normal.

But for some…

Something strange had begun.

Inside the school hallway, Bonnie Bennett suddenly stopped walking.

Caroline turned toward her.

"Bonnie? Why did you stop?"

Bonnie frowned slightly.

Her eyes moved around the hallway as if she was searching for something invisible.

"Do you feel that?" she asked quietly.

Caroline blinked.

"Feel what?"

Bonnie placed a hand on her chest.

"It's like…"

She struggled to describe it.

"Like something is pressing on the air."

Caroline laughed lightly.

"Okay that's creepy."

Bonnie shook her head slowly.

"No… it's not creepy."

Her eyes became serious.

"It's powerful."

Caroline raised an eyebrow.

"You're doing your witch thing again, aren't you?"

Bonnie gave her a small glare.

"It's not a thing."

Caroline held up her hands.

"Relax, I'm kidding."

Just then…

Elena walked toward them.

She looked slightly tired.

Caroline immediately noticed.

"Whoa, Elena. You look like you didn't sleep at all."

Elena sighed.

"I didn't."

Bonnie looked at her with curiosity.

"Why?"

Elena hesitated.

Then she said quietly:

"I went to see Alexander last night."

Caroline's eyes widened.

"Wait… you WHAT?"

Elena sighed again.

"It's not like that."

Caroline smirked.

"Sure it isn't."

Bonnie, however, looked thoughtful.

"Alexander…"

Her expression slowly became serious again.

Elena noticed.

"What?"

Bonnie shook her head slightly.

"Nothing."

But inside her mind…

Something felt wrong.

At that exact moment…

Alexander Nightshade walked through the school entrance.

The hallway atmosphere changed instantly.

Students unconsciously moved aside as he walked past.

Some looked curious.

Some looked nervous.

And some…

Couldn't stop staring.

Alexander ignored all of them.

His golden eyes calmly scanned the hallway.

Then suddenly…

Bonnie froze.

Her breathing stopped for a moment.

Her eyes widened.

'What… is that?'

The energy surrounding Alexander was overwhelming.

It felt ancient.

Deep.

And unbelievably powerful.

Bonnie had felt supernatural energy before.

From witches.

From spirits.

But this…

This was something completely different.

It felt like standing next to a sleeping storm.

Caroline noticed Bonnie's pale face.

"Bonnie? Are you okay?"

Bonnie whispered slowly.

"That guy…"

Caroline followed her gaze.

"Alexander?"

Bonnie nodded.

"There's something about him."

Elena looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

Bonnie hesitated.

She didn't want to sound crazy.

But the feeling was too strong to ignore.

"His energy…"

She swallowed slightly.

"It's terrifying."

Caroline blinked.

"Terrifying?"

Elena immediately shook her head.

"Alexander isn't dangerous."

Bonnie looked at her.

"You don't know that."

Elena crossed her arms.

"I talked to him last night."

Caroline's eyes widened again.

"You really did go to his house?"

Elena sighed.

"Yes, Caroline."

Caroline grinned.

"Details later."

But Bonnie was still staring at Alexander.

At that moment…

Alexander suddenly turned his head.

His golden eyes met Bonnie's.

For a brief second…

Bonnie felt like her soul had been exposed.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Alexander observed her calmly.

Then he gave a small, polite nod.

Before continuing down the hallway.

Bonnie slowly exhaled.

'He noticed.'

And somehow…

That made her even more uneasy.

Meanwhile…

On the other side of the school.

Stefan Salvatore leaned casually against a locker.

Damon stood beside him.

Watching the hallway.

Damon smirked slightly.

"Our mysterious new friend is getting popular."

Stefan nodded.

"People are curious about him."

Damon's eyes narrowed slightly as he watched Alexander walk past.

"He's not normal."

Stefan sighed.

"None of us are."

Damon chuckled.

"True."

But deep inside…

Even Damon felt it.

Alexander Nightshade carried a presence that didn't belong in Mystic Falls.

And Damon had lived long enough to recognize danger.

Outside the school…

Standing beneath a large oak tree…

Katherine Pierce watched everything from a distance.

Her eyes followed Alexander as he walked across the campus.

A playful smile appeared on her lips.

"'You're causing quite a stir already, Alexander.'"

She leaned against the tree calmly.

"'I wonder how long it will take before everyone realizes what you really are.'"

Because Katherine knew one thing for certain.

Alexander Nightshade was not just another supernatural creature.

He was something far more dangerous.

And far more interesting.
