Jay's POV
The moment we entered the mansion, Keiren and Keigan ran toward us excitedly.
"Ate Jay!" Keigan shouted happily.
I laughed as they both hugged me.
"Hi you two," I said, patting their heads.
Keifer watched us with a soft smile before picking up my suitcase again.
"Come on," he said calmly. "I'll show you upstairs."
My heart skipped a beat.
I nodded and followed him.
The hallway upstairs was quiet and elegant. When we reached the large door at the end, Keifer opened it.
"This is my room," he said.
I stepped inside slowly.
The room was large and beautiful. Sunlight streamed through the tall windows, and the bed in the center looked incredibly comfortable.
Before I could say anything, Keifer spoke again.
"From now on… this room will be ours."
My cheeks instantly heated up.
My heart started beating faster.
Ours.
Just hearing that word made me nervous and happy at the same time.
Keifer continued showing me around.
"That's where I usually work," he said, pointing to a desk near the window.
"And that door leads to the balcony."
While he spoke, an idea suddenly struck me.
A prank.
So I quietly stopped responding.
I walked toward the window and stayed silent.
"Jay?" he called.
I didn't answer.
He looked confused.
"Do you not like the room?"
Still nothing.
I walked to the other side of the room, ignoring him.
Now he looked worried.
"Jay…"
He walked closer and gently held my shoulders.
"Sit," he said softly, guiding me to the bed.
I sat down while still pretending to be upset.
"Tell me what's wrong," he said. "Why are you mad?"
I stayed silent for a few seconds before answering.
"You teased me in front of Kuya Angelo."
His eyebrows lifted.
"That's why you're angry?"
"Yes."
He sighed.
"Okay… what should I do to make it up to you?"
I crossed my arms.
"Say the magic word."
"The magic word?"
"Yes."
Without hesitation he said,
"Sorry… darling."
My eyes widened.
"Wait— who is darling?"
He smirked slightly.
"You."
"What?"
"From today," he said calmly, "I'm calling you darling."
My heart fluttered a little but I kept my serious face.
"But apologising isn't your thing," I said. "Explaining is."
"That's true," he admitted.
"So why did you say sorry?"
He looked at me seriously.
"That rule is for other people."
Then his voice softened.
"But for the person I love the most… I can say sorry a hundred times."
My heart skipped a beat.
"I wouldn't care about apologising to anyone else," he continued. "But for you? I'll do it anytime."
That was it.
I couldn't hold it anymore.
I burst out laughing.
Keifer stared at me in confusion.
"You're laughing?"
I nodded while laughing harder.
"Oh my god, your face!"
Realization slowly appeared on his face.
"You pranked me."
I grinned proudly.
"Yes."
He narrowed his eyes.
"You're going to pay for that."
I stepped back.
"Keifer—"
But before I could escape, he caught my wrist and pulled me back.
In one quick movement he pinned me gently against the wall.
My breath caught.
"Got you," he said quietly.
"You cheated!" I protested.
"You started it."
He leaned closer.
"You think you can prank me and get away with it?"
Before I could answer, he kissed me.
The kiss was warm and intense.
At first I tried to push him away, but then I slowly kissed him back.
His hands rested around my waist as he kissed my cheek… then slowly along my jaw line them started kissing my neck and slowly started removing my top he was about to unhook my bra .
"Keifer…" I whispered.
But before anything else could happen—
Knock knock!
"Brother!"
We both froze.
"Lunch is ready!" Keiren's voice came from outside.
I sighed in relief.
"Perfect timing."
Keifer groaned dramatically.
"My brother has the worst timing."
I laughed.
"Or the best."
He stepped back reluctantly.
"Come on," he said. "Let's go eat before they start searching for us."
I wore my top and went along with keifer for lunch.
Keifer's POV
The moment Jay walked into my house earlier, something inside me felt different.
For years this place had simply been a mansion.
Large. Quiet. Empty.
But the moment she stepped in, laughing with Keiren and Keigan, the house suddenly felt alive.
Watching my brothers hug her so easily surprised me.
They usually stayed distant from people.
But with Jay… it was natural.
And that made me happy in a way I didn't expect.
When I took her upstairs and showed her my room, my heart was strangely nervous.
Saying the words "this room will be ours" wasn't easy.
Not because I doubted it.
But because saying it out loud made it real.
Jay living with me.
Jay waking up beside me every morning.
Jay being part of my life completely.
For someone like me, who spent years dealing with business battles and enemies, this kind of happiness felt almost unfamiliar.
Then she suddenly started ignoring me.
At first I thought she was joking.
But when she kept avoiding me, something inside me tightened.
The thought that I might have upset her bothered me more than anything.
I replayed the morning in my head.
Did I say something wrong?
Did I make her uncomfortable?
So when she finally spoke about being upset because I teased her in front of Angelo… I genuinely believed it.
Apologising wasn't something I did often.
In fact, I almost never apologised to anyone.
But Jay wasn't anyone.
She was the person I loved most.
So saying "sorry" to her felt natural.
But then she started laughing.
That's when I realized.
She had pranked me.
At first I was annoyed.
Then I saw her laughing so freely… and I couldn't stay angry.
Her laughter filled the room.
For a moment the world outside the room disappeared.
All I could focus on was Jay.
The way her eyes closed when I kissed her… the way her hands instinctively grabbed my shirt… the way her heartbeat felt so fast when I held her close.
Every time I looked at her, the same thought crossed my mind.
She's really here.
For years my life had been nothing but responsibility—running the Watson Empire, dealing with enemies, protecting my brothers, and making decisions that could change thousands of lives.
There was never time to simply… breathe.
But Jay changed that.
When she laughed, the tension in my chest disappeared.
When she smiled, the entire world suddenly felt lighter.
And now she was here.
Living with me.
Sharing my room.
Sharing my life.
When she pranked me earlier, for a moment I had actually been worried that she was upset.
That realization surprised even me.
I had faced powerful businessmen, ruthless enemies, and dangerous situations without fear.
But the thought of Jay being angry at me?
That bothered me more than anything else.
When she started laughing and I realized she had pranked me, I should have been annoyed.
Instead… I felt relieved.
Seeing her laugh like that made the entire room feel warm.
Of course I had to get my revenge.
So I pinned her gently against the wall.
When I kissed her, I could feel her surprise at first.
Then slowly she kissed me back.
In that moment everything felt peaceful.
Like the chaos of my life had paused for a second.
Then—
"BROTHER!"
Keiren's voice echoed from outside the door.
I immediately closed my eyes and sighed.
Of course.
Perfect timing.
Jay laughed softly beside me.
"Perfect timing," she whispered.
I shook my head.
"My brother has the worst timing in history."
She grinned.
"Or the best."
I stepped back and ran a hand through my hair before opening the door.
Keiren stood there with Keigan behind him.
"Lunch is ready!" Keiren announced proudly.
I nodded.
"We're coming."
The boys ran downstairs again.
Jay walked beside me toward the stairs.
I glanced at her and smiled.
"You know," I said quietly.
"What?"
"You're dangerous."
She looked confused.
"Why?"
"Because now this house feels empty whenever you're not in the room."
She blinked in surprise.
Then she smiled.
"Well," she said teasingly, "you're stuck with me now."
I chuckled softly.
"Good."
Because the truth was simple.
For the first time in years…
The Watson mansion finally felt like a home. ❤️
