[Five Days Later—An Unknown Sea in the New World]
A massive pirate ship shaped like a white whale was slowly sailing across the sea, heading aimlessly deeper into the vast ocean.
The Whitebeard Pirates had been at sea for four days. In the past few days, they stopped at an island to replenish supplies, and after restocking, they resumed their aimless voyage.
On the deck, Whitebeard sat on a step, resembling an insurmountable mountain from afar.
Reno was floating beside Whitebeard, persistently trying to persuade him to go to Wano Country. However, Whitebeard, aside from looking slightly impatient, completely ignored Reno.
Looking at the unresponsive Whitebeard, Reno pondered in frustration: This Whitebeard is as stubborn as a rock. How can I convince him to go to Wano Country?
The rest of the crew on the ship watched Reno with amused expressions. Since Reno had joined their crew, the atmosphere on the ship had become much livelier.
Every day, the crew witnessed Reno trying every possible way to persuade Whitebeard to go to Wano Country. But with Whitebeard ignoring him, the crew treated it as a source of entertainment.
Seeing this, Reno realized that unless he revealed some shocking information, Whitebeard would never agree to go to Wano.
With this thought, Reno floated closer to Whitebeard and whispered, "Uncle Whitebeard, it's not that I want to go to Wano Country, but if I can't take you there, Uncle Oden will be killed by someone who can turn into a dragon!"
Reno decided to use his ultimate bluff. He didn't believe that even this piece of shocking news wouldn't make Whitebeard obediently head to Wano Country.
"What did you say?!"
Sure enough, as soon as Reno mentioned Kozuki Oden's impending death, Whitebeard's eyes widened as he stared at Reno with an intense gaze. His aura surged, resembling a fearsome demon king.
Seeing Whitebeard's terrifying demeanor, Reno was slightly frightened. He immediately floated away from Whitebeard, afraid that a single punch from him would send him to an early grave.
"Bang... Bang... Bang... Bang..."
All around the deck, members of the Whitebeard Pirates started collapsing, rolling their eyes as they hit the ground one by one.
Whitebeard's uncontrolled release of his Conqueror's Haki, triggered by his anger, instantly knocked out more than half of the crew.
Marco, who had been dealing with matters inside the ship, rushed out upon sensing Whitebeard's Conqueror's Haki. With a confused expression, he asked, "Pops… what happened?!"
Whitebeard didn't respond to Marco and instead kept staring at Reno, as if trying to see through him.
Faced with Whitebeard's fury, Reno dared not provoke him further. He retreated to a safe distance, about ten meters away, before stopping.
Looking at the crew sprawled across the deck, then at himself, Reno thought: Strange, why am I not affected?
While Whitebeard's intimidating aura had startled Reno, his Conqueror's Haki had no effect on him at all. It was as if Whitebeard had merely shouted loudly.
Whitebeard also found it odd that Reno was unaffected, but he had no time to dwell on it. After staring at Reno for a long while, he asked, "Kid, what did you mean by what you said earlier?"
Feigning fear, Reno replied, "Uncle Whitebeard, you're so scary. How would I dare say anything now?"
Hearing this, Whitebeard's face darkened, but he suppressed his aura and asked again, "What's going on? You can explain now, can't you?"
Glancing at the crew around him, Reno hesitated and demanded, "This is my personal secret, so I can only tell you. Otherwise, I won't say a word!"
What Reno intended to say (or bluff) wasn't simple. If too many people knew about it, it would bring him no benefit and possibly countless troubles.
Whitebeard gave Reno a deep look before standing up and heading to his quarters. As he walked, he instructed, "Come to my room with me... Marco, make sure no one comes near here!"
"Got it, Pops!" Marco replied.
Seeing Whitebeard walk away, Reno quickly floated after him. He was thoroughly enjoying this floating sensation, drifting around all day and occasionally scaring the crew out of their wits.
When Reno entered, Whitebeard was already seated, waiting for him. Reno closed the door behind him, then turned to Whitebeard and asked, "Uncle Whitebeard, have you ever heard of a type of person who can glimpse fragments of the future?"
Whitebeard thought for a moment before replying, "I've never met such a person, but I've heard of them. Are you saying… you can see the future?"
Hearing Whitebeard's response, Reno sighed in relief. As long as Whitebeard had heard of it, it would be easier to convince him. If he hadn't, it might have been much harder to make him believe.
With this in mind, Reno looked at Whitebeard and answered, "I can indeed see glimpses of the future, but they're just fragments, not complete. I can also see a bit of the major events that will happen."
Reno had thought of the girl at the café on Fishman Island who could glimpse the future. To convince Whitebeard, he decided to play the role of a prophet.
Whitebeard sat silently for several minutes before finally looking up and saying, "I can't just head to Wano Country based on a few words from you. Prove yourself."
Reno expected it wouldn't be that easy. After thinking for a moment, he said, "You can ask me about some major events that will happen in the near future, things only you know about or that very few people know."
Reno's implication was clear: Whitebeard could ask about events he planned to do but hadn't done yet, or about things others intended to do but hadn't started yet.
The reason Reno said this was that Roger had likely shared his plans with Whitebeard, including some secrets of the Void Century. Otherwise, during the Marineford War, Whitebeard wouldn't have said those words to Marshall D. Teach as he lay dying.
So, for Whitebeard, the only major upcoming event he knew about was Roger's plan to start the Great Pirate Era.
As someone who had read the original story, Reno was more than capable of playing the role of a prophet, ensuring he could bluff even the strongest figures into submission.
