The sky above the floating temple was no longer calm.
Dark clouds gathered like a massive ocean in the air, rolling and twisting with green and black lightning. The wind howled across the broken cliffs, carrying dust and ancient whispers from the ruins below. Arin stood at the edge of the temple platform, staring into the distance.
The Master Emerald floated quietly behind him, glowing with a steady green light.
But something felt wrong.
Very wrong.
"Do you feel that?" Arin asked quietly.
Mira stepped beside him and looked at the sky.
"The air feels heavy," she said. "Like something big is coming."
The traveler tightened his grip on his staff.
"It is not just something," he said slowly. "It is someone."
Arin turned.
"Someone?"
The traveler nodded.
"Yes. The shadow we sensed before. It is moving now. It has awakened."
A loud thunderclap exploded in the sky.
BOOOOM!
Green lightning tore through the clouds, lighting up the entire horizon. For a brief second, a massive dark shape appeared in the distance — like a giant shadow standing in the storm.
Mira gasped.
"What was that?!"
Arin narrowed his eyes.
"I saw it too."
The traveler stepped forward and raised his staff. A small glowing map of energy appeared in the air, showing the land below the floating temple.
A large dark energy source was moving toward them.
Slowly.
But steadily.
"It is heading here," the traveler said.
Arin clenched his fists.
"Then we must stop it before it reaches the Emerald."
The traveler shook his head.
"No. We must move the Emerald away from here. This temple is no longer safe."
Mira looked worried.
"But where will we take it?"
The traveler pointed toward the distant mountains.
"There is a place called the Emerald Valley. Long ago, Guardians trained there. It is hidden and protected by ancient magic."
Arin nodded.
"Then we go there."
Suddenly, the Master Emerald began to glow brighter.
The green light pulsed like a heartbeat.
Then a voice echoed softly in Arin's mind.
Guardian… danger is near…
Arin stepped back slightly.
"It's warning us."
The wind suddenly became violent.
The clouds above twisted faster, forming a massive spiral.
And then…
A dark beam of energy shot down from the sky and struck the ground below the temple.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The earth shook violently. Large rocks broke apart and fell into the endless sky below.
Mira nearly lost her balance.
"Arin!"
He grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
The traveler raised a shield of light to protect them from falling debris.
Then something terrifying began to rise from the impact point.
A massive creature slowly stood up.
It was made of shadows and dark energy, with glowing red eyes and sharp claws. Its body looked like a giant armored beast, covered in black smoke and broken stone.
Each step it took cracked the ground.
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
Mira's voice trembled.
"What… is that?"
The traveler's face became serious.
"That is a Shadow Beast."
Arin stepped forward.
"It came for the Master Emerald."
The Shadow Beast looked up and roared.
RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
The roar shook the entire floating temple.
Dark energy spread across the ground like poison.
The Master Emerald reacted immediately, glowing brightly behind Arin.
The beast raised its arm and fired a blast of dark energy toward them.
"Move!" the traveler shouted.
Arin jumped forward and raised his hand.
"Emerald Shield!"
Green energy exploded outward, forming a barrier.
BOOOOM!
The dark attack crashed into the shield, sending shockwaves across the platform.
Arin gritted his teeth.
The pressure was strong.
Very strong.
Mira shouted, "Arin, be careful!"
The Shadow Beast attacked again, charging forward with incredible speed.
Arin dropped the shield and jumped into the air.
"Emerald Strike!"
Green energy covered his fist as he punched the beast.
BOOM!
The Shadow Beast staggered backward.
But it did not fall.
Instead, it roared louder and swung its massive claw.
Arin barely dodged the attack.
The claw smashed into the ground, breaking stone and sending debris flying everywhere.
The traveler raised his staff.
"Light Chain!"
Chains of glowing energy wrapped around the Shadow Beast's legs, slowing it down.
"Now, Arin!" he shouted.
Arin nodded.
He focused deeply.
The Master Emerald glowed brighter behind him.
Green lightning flowed around his body.
"I will protect this world!"
He jumped high into the air.
"EMERALD BURST!"
A massive beam of green energy shot down from his hands and struck the Shadow Beast directly.
BOOOOOOOOM!!!
The explosion shook the sky.
The Shadow Beast screamed in pain as cracks spread across its dark body.
Then it shattered into black dust and disappeared into the wind.
Silence returned.
The storm slowed slightly.
Arin landed on the ground, breathing heavily.
Mira ran to him.
"You did it!"
The traveler nodded.
"Yes… but this was only a small attack."
Arin looked up at the sky.
"You mean more are coming?"
The traveler's voice became heavy.
"Yes. The real enemy has not arrived yet."
The Master Emerald pulsed again.
The storm clouds slowly moved away, but deep in the distance, a pair of red glowing eyes watched everything.
A dark voice whispered through the wind.
"Guardian… your strength is growing… but you cannot stop me."
Arin clenched his fists.
"Whoever you are… I will defeat you."
The traveler looked toward the mountains.
"We must leave now. Emerald Valley is our only hope."
Mira nodded.
"Then let's go."
Arin turned and looked at the Master Emerald.
"I promise… I will protect you."
The Emerald glowed softly in response.
And together, they began their journey toward Emerald Valley, unaware that the shadow enemy was already preparing the next attack.
The war for the Master Emerald had truly begun.
