The next day, Mira couldn't stop thinking about what she had said in the dream.
"I think I like talking to you."
The sentence kept replaying in her mind like a song stuck on repeat.
While brushing her teeth, she groaned softly.
"Why did I say that?" she muttered.
It wasn't exactly a confession.
But it was close enough to make her feel embarrassed.
At the office, Mira tried to distract herself with work.
Emails.
Reports.
Meetings.
But every quiet moment brought the memory back.
His smile.
His calm voice.
The way he had said "A dangerous realization."
She sighed and leaned back in her chair.
"Great," she whispered.
"Now I'm embarrassed in front of someone who only exists in my dreams."
That evening, Mira returned home feeling restless again.
After dinner she went straight to the gym.
Usually working out helped clear her thoughts.
But tonight her mind refused to cooperate.
Every time she paused between exercises, she found herself wondering the same thing.
Will the dream happen again tonight?
She shook her head while tying her hair into a ponytail.
"This is getting ridiculous."
Still… the thought remained.
Later that night, Mira fell asleep quickly.
The moment her eyes opened again, she already knew where she was.
The rooftop.
The cool wind.
The endless city lights.
But before she could say anything—
A voice spoke behind her.
"You look nervous."
Mira turned around immediately.
He was already there.
Standing near the railing with that familiar calm expression.
She crossed her arms defensively.
"I'm not nervous."
"Really?"
"Yes."
He walked closer slowly.
"Then why are you avoiding eye contact?"
Mira looked away immediately.
"I'm not avoiding anything."
He smiled slightly.
"You are."
She sighed dramatically.
"You're very annoying in dreams, you know that?"
"I've been told worse."
They stood near the railing again.
The wind moved gently through the quiet night.
After a moment he spoke again.
"You said something interesting last time."
Mira froze.
"Oh no."
He tilted his head.
"You don't remember?"
"I remember," she said quickly.
"Too well."
He looked amused.
"So you admit it."
"Admit what?"
"That you like talking to me."
Mira covered her face with her hands.
"This is exactly why I didn't want the dream to come back."
He laughed softly.
"You're embarrassed."
"I'm not embarrassed!"
"You definitely are."
She groaned.
"This is unfair."
"Why?"
"Because you're a dream character. You're not supposed to tease me."
He leaned casually against the railing.
"Apparently I didn't get that instruction."
After a moment Mira lowered her hands.
Her expression became more thoughtful.
"You know something?" she said quietly.
"What?"
"If someone heard this conversation, they would think I'm completely crazy."
He shrugged.
"Probably."
She smiled slightly.
"But it still feels nice."
His teasing expression softened a little.
"Nice how?"
Mira looked at the city lights again before answering.
"Like someone is actually listening."
For a moment, the rooftop felt very quiet.
Then he asked something unexpected.
"So you like talking to me."
Mira narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
"Yes…?"
"Do you like me too?"
Her eyes widened.
"That escalated quickly."
He laughed again.
"Relax. I'm just curious."
Mira leaned against the railing, pretending to think.
"Hm."
"Thinking very hard."
"Yes."
After a moment she shrugged.
"Maybe."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Maybe?"
"I'm still deciding."
"Take your time."
She pointed at him playfully.
"But remember one thing."
"What?"
"You're still a dream."
He nodded slowly.
"And yet you're still here."
The lights flickered again.
Mira groaned immediately.
"Seriously? These dreams are too short."
He looked at her with a faint smile.
"Maybe that's why you keep coming back."
The rooftop slowly began fading again.
Before everything disappeared, Mira said one last thing.
"You know what's funny?"
"What?"
"I used to laugh at people who had celebrity crushes."
"And now?"
She smiled slightly.
"Now I understand them."
Mira woke up the next morning with a small smile on her face.
She stared at the ceiling for a few seconds before laughing quietly.
"Okay," she said.
"This is officially the weirdest crush I've ever had."
But despite how strange it sounded…
her heart felt lighter.
Because somewhere between imagination and reality…
Mira had found someone she enjoyed talking to.
Even if that someone only existed when she was dreaming.
