Chapter 16 - A Line From The Dream

Morning sunlight slowly filled Mira's room.

For a few seconds, she sat quietly on her bed, staring at nothing.

Her mind was still replaying the dream from the night before.

The rooftop.

The conversation.

And the strange way he had said,

"You already know my name."

Mira shook her head.

"No," she said to herself.

"This is getting ridiculous."

She quickly got up and started her morning routine.

There were things to do.

Housework.

Breakfast.

Getting ready for the office.

Normal life.

Real life.

As usual, Mira helped with a few chores before leaving for work.

She washed the dishes, packed her bag, and quickly checked her phone.

Her playlist was still open from the night before.

Mostly rap songs.

Mostly the same artist she had been listening to for weeks.

She stared at the screen for a moment.

Then she laughed softly.

"You're officially influencing my dreams now."

Still, she pressed play.

Music always made mornings easier.

The bus ride to the office was crowded as usual.

Mira stood near the window, headphones on, watching the city pass by.

Traffic.

People rushing to work.

Street vendors setting up their stalls.

Everything looked normal.

Everything felt normal.

Until the next song started playing.

A calm rap voice filled her ears.

She had heard this song many times before.

But today, something felt different.

Mira listened quietly.

Then suddenly—

Her eyes widened.

Because one particular line caught her attention.

A line she remembered very clearly.

Her heart skipped slightly.

The lyric said:

"Sometimes the loudest noise in the world is the silence inside your own mind."

Mira froze.

Her grip on the bus railing tightened slightly.

Because she had heard that sentence before.

Not in the song.

In the dream.

She removed one earbud slowly.

"Wait…" she whispered.

Her mind quickly replayed a memory.

One of the rooftop conversations.

The night he had asked her why she listened to music so much.

And she had answered:

"To stop my mind from thinking too much."

And he had replied with something very similar.

Something about silence inside the mind.

Mira frowned.

"That's… weird."

She quickly replayed the song.

The same lyric appeared again.

Exactly the same.

Now her thoughts started racing.

"Did I hear the song before and forget?"

"Or did my brain just copy the lyric into the dream?"

"Or…"

She stopped herself.

"No."

She shook her head firmly.

"It's just coincidence."

Of course it was coincidence.

Dreams borrowed things from real life all the time.

Music.

Conversations.

Memories.

Her brain was simply mixing everything together.

That was the logical explanation.

Still…

The similarity felt strange.

At the office, Mira tried to focus on work.

But her mind kept drifting back to the same thought.

You already know my name.

Why had he said that?

And why had that lyric sounded so familiar?

She sighed and leaned back in her chair.

"Great," she muttered.

"Now my dreams are creating mysteries."

Her coworker looked at her strangely.

"Did you say something?"

Mira quickly shook her head.

"No, no."

"Just thinking."

Later that evening, Mira returned home feeling tired.

But also curious.

More curious than usual.

After dinner, she sat on her bed with her phone in her hands.

Her music app was still open.

She stared at the artist profile.

The same Korean rapper whose songs she had been listening to every night.

His music was thoughtful.

Emotional.

Full of deep lyrics about life and thoughts.

Exactly the kind of music that connected with her mind.

Mira looked at his name on the screen.

Then she remembered the dream again.

You already know my name.

Her heart beat slightly faster.

"No way," she whispered.

"That would be too crazy."

Still…

A small smile appeared on her face.

Because even if it was just imagination…

The mystery was starting to feel interesting.

That night, before going to sleep, Mira turned off the lights and lay down quietly.

Her room was peaceful.

Her playlist played softly again.

She closed her eyes slowly.

And whispered into the darkness.

"Okay dream world."

"Let's see what happens tonight."

Because now…

She had a new question waiting.

And this time she was determined to ask it.
