The next few days passed quietly for Mira.
Her life continued in its usual rhythm.
Wake up early.
Help with housework.
Rush to the office.
Finish her tasks.
Return home tired.
Listen to music to calm her mind.
And sleep.
The routine was simple.
Predictable.
But something inside her had changed.
Now every night, when she closed her eyes, she wondered if the rooftop would appear again.
Sometimes it did.
Sometimes it didn't.
But whenever the dream returned, the conversation continued as if no time had passed.
They talked about music.
About work stress.
About how strange human thoughts could be.
And sometimes, they simply stood together in silence, watching the city lights.
Those quiet moments felt surprisingly peaceful.
But one thought had slowly started growing in Mira's mind.
A question she hadn't dared to ask yet.
Because the answer might make things complicated.
And Mira liked things simple.
Or at least… she used to.
That night, she fell asleep quickly.
When her eyes opened again, the rooftop was waiting.
The familiar wind brushed gently across her face.
The city lights glowed below like thousands of tiny stars.
Mira smiled slightly.
"You really like this place," she said softly.
A voice answered beside her.
"You keep coming back."
She turned and saw him already standing near the railing.
Calm.
Relaxed.
Exactly the way he always appeared.
They stood together quietly for a moment.
The peaceful silence felt comfortable now.
Almost natural.
But tonight Mira's mind was not calm.
That question was still there.
Waiting.
She took a deep breath.
"Can I ask you something?"
He looked at her.
"You always do."
"This one is different."
"That sounds serious."
"It is."
He leaned against the railing.
"Go ahead."
Mira hesitated.
Then finally spoke.
"What happens if someone… starts liking a person they only meet in dreams?"
For the first time, he didn't respond immediately.
The wind moved softly across the rooftop.
Then he asked quietly,
"Why are you asking that?"
Mira looked away.
"Just curious."
"That doesn't sound like curiosity."
She sighed.
"Okay fine."
She looked at him again.
"What if someone starts feeling emotionally attached to someone who isn't real?"
He studied her expression carefully.
"And you think that's happening?"
Mira quickly shook her head.
"No."
Then after a small pause, she added,
"…maybe."
He smiled faintly.
"That's honest."
Mira leaned against the railing, staring at the city lights.
"I used to think people were ridiculous for having celebrity crushes," she said.
"Now?"
"Now I understand how it happens."
"Because emotions don't always follow logic."
"Exactly."
She looked at him again.
"So tell me."
"What happens in that situation?"
He stayed quiet for a moment before answering.
"Usually two things can happen."
"Okay…"
"Either the person realizes it's just imagination…"
"…or they allow the feeling to grow anyway."
"That sounds risky."
"It is."
"Why?"
"Because dreams are temporary."
Mira felt a small knot in her chest.
"What if the feelings aren't temporary?"
He looked at her gently.
"That's the dangerous part."
The wind became slightly stronger.
Mira folded her arms.
"So basically you're saying it's a bad idea."
"I didn't say that."
"You implied it."
He shook his head slightly.
"Feelings themselves aren't wrong."
"Then what is?"
"Expecting dreams to become reality."
Mira stayed silent for a moment.
Then she asked the question she had been avoiding.
"What if someone falls in love with a dream?"
For the first time since she met him…
His expression became serious.
Very serious.
The playful teasing disappeared.
He looked directly at her before answering.
"Then they have to be very careful."
"Careful of what?"
"Of forgetting the difference between dreams and reality."
Mira frowned slightly.
"And if they don't care about that difference?"
He smiled sadly.
"Reality usually reminds them."
The rooftop lights flickered again.
Mira groaned quietly.
"Dream timing is the worst."
He laughed softly.
"That's true."
She looked at him one last time before the dream faded.
"You didn't really answer my question."
"Which one?"
"What happens if someone actually falls in love with a dream?"
This time he answered softly.
"They eventually wake up."
The city lights slowly disappeared.
The wind faded.
The rooftop dissolved into darkness.
And Mira woke up.
Morning sunlight filled her room again.
She sat up slowly, her mind replaying the conversation.
"They eventually wake up."
She frowned slightly.
"That sounded like a warning."
But for some reason…
Instead of feeling scared…
Mira felt something else.
Curiosity.
Because if dreams were meant to disappear…
Why did this one keep returning?
