Chapter 24 - The Night Mira Gets Jealous

The next morning, Mira woke up feeling slightly confused.

Her mind immediately replayed the moment from the dream.

The rooftop.

The cool wind.

And the strange warmth she had felt when she touched his hand.

She stared at her palm again.

"That was definitely weird," she whispered.

Dreams were supposed to feel distant.

Blurry.

Unreal.

But lately these dreams were the opposite.

They felt detailed.

Almost alive.

And that thought made Mira both curious and nervous.

After finishing her morning routine, Mira left for the office as usual.

The bus ride was crowded again.

People were rushing to work, checking their phones, listening to music.

Mira leaned against the window with her headphones on.

Her playlist started automatically.

Soft rap beats filled her ears.

Normally the music relaxed her mind.

But today she kept remembering the rooftop conversation.

Especially the way he had calmly said:

"Maybe part of you doesn't want the dreams to end."

Mira sighed.

"Maybe he's right," she muttered.

At lunch break, Mira opened her phone and started scrolling through social media.

Random posts filled her feed.

Travel photos.

Memes.

Short videos.

Then suddenly she saw a fan video.

It was about the same Korean rapper whose music she listened to almost every day.

Curious, she tapped it.

The video showed a compilation of fans talking about him.

Some were praising his lyrics.

Some admired his intelligence.

Some said they admired his personality.

And some girls were very dramatic.

One girl in the video said loudly,

"If I ever met him, I would probably fall in love instantly!"

Another one laughed and said,

"Same! He's literally the perfect man."

Mira raised an eyebrow.

"Perfect man?"

She shook her head slightly.

"Calm down, people."

But strangely…

Something inside her felt slightly annoyed.

She continued watching the video.

More fans appeared.

More compliments.

More dramatic reactions.

Mira suddenly locked her phone and leaned back in her chair.

"Why am I irritated?" she muttered.

She tried to ignore the feeling.

But the thought stayed in her mind the entire day.

That night, after returning home, Mira felt unusually restless.

She tried listening to music.

She tried reading something.

Nothing helped.

Finally she lay down in bed and stared at the ceiling.

"Okay," she said quietly.

"I have a question tonight."

Her eyes slowly closed.

And sleep arrived soon after.

When Mira opened her eyes again…

The rooftop appeared once more.

The cool wind brushed across her face.

The familiar city lights stretched across the horizon.

But this time Mira didn't look calm.

She crossed her arms and walked straight to the railing.

"Unbelievable," she muttered.

A voice behind her spoke calmly.

"You look annoyed."

Mira turned around.

There he was again.

Standing a few steps away, watching her curiously.

She pointed at him immediately.

"You."

He raised an eyebrow.

"That's usually how conversations start."

"I saw something today."

"Oh?"

"A fan video."

"That sounds dangerous."

"You have no idea."

He leaned against the railing, clearly amused.

"What happened in this video?"

Mira sighed dramatically.

"A bunch of girls saying how amazing you are."

He nodded thoughtfully.

"That sounds normal."

She glared at him.

"Don't look proud."

"I'm not."

"You definitely are."

He laughed softly.

"So what exactly bothered you?"

Mira crossed her arms tighter.

"They were acting like they would fall in love instantly."

"And?"

"And it was annoying."

"Why?"

"Because they don't even know you."

He tilted his head.

"That never stopped fans before."

"Exactly!"

He watched her quietly for a moment.

Then a slow smile appeared on his face.

"You sound jealous."

Mira's eyes widened immediately.

"What?!"

"Jealous."

"I am not jealous."

"You definitely are."

She pointed at him again.

"Don't get confident."

"I'm just observing."

"Well your observation is wrong."

He chuckled softly.

"Then why are you so bothered?"

Mira opened her mouth to argue.

Then stopped.

Because suddenly she realized something uncomfortable.

She didn't actually know the answer.

She looked away toward the city lights.

"I just think people exaggerate too much," she muttered.

"Maybe."

"Also… they don't know your personality."

He raised an eyebrow.

"And you do?"

Mira froze for a second.

"…Maybe."

He smiled.

"That sounds suspicious."

The rooftop lights flickered again.

Mira groaned loudly.

"Seriously? These dreams need longer episodes."

He laughed again.

Before the dream began fading, he said something teasing.

"You were definitely jealous."

"I was not!"

"Maybe a little."

"Stop saying that."

The city lights slowly blurred.

But just before everything disappeared, Mira shouted one last thing.

"I'm not jealous!"

His quiet laughter was the last thing she heard before waking up.

Morning sunlight filled her room again.

Mira buried her face in her pillow.

"Oh my god," she groaned.

"Was I actually jealous?"

The thought made her both embarrassed and confused.

Because jealousy meant something very simple.

It meant her feelings for the mysterious rooftop guy were becoming stronger.

And that realization made her heart beat slightly faster.
