Chapter 29 - The Detail Mira Shouldn't Know

That night, Mira fell asleep faster than usual.

Her mind was already waiting for the rooftop.

The strange conversations from the day kept replaying in her head.

The café.

The video she watched.

The repeated question.

"What if it's not just a dream?"

She wasn't sure what to believe anymore.

But one thing was clear.

Tonight, she wanted answers.

When Mira opened her eyes again…

The rooftop appeared exactly the same.

The cool night breeze.

The glowing city lights stretching endlessly across the horizon.

But tonight she didn't look confused.

She looked determined.

"You look serious again."

The familiar voice came from behind her.

Mira turned slowly.

There he was.

Standing near the railing, watching her with the same calm expression.

But this time she walked directly toward him.

"No jokes tonight," she said.

He raised an eyebrow slightly.

"That sounds strict."

"I'm serious."

"I can see that."

She crossed her arms.

"You asked me a question yesterday."

"Which one?"

"You know exactly which one."

He smiled faintly.

"What if I'm not just part of your dream?"

"Yes," Mira said immediately.

"That one."

He leaned casually against the railing.

"And?"

"And I want to know what you meant."

He studied her expression for a moment.

"Do you really want to know?"

"Yes."

"Even if the answer confuses you more?"

Mira sighed.

"You already confuse me every night."

He laughed quietly.

"That's fair."

The wind moved softly across the rooftop.

For a moment he didn't say anything.

Then he spoke slowly.

"Have you noticed something strange about these dreams?"

Mira nodded.

"They continue."

"Exactly."

"Like conversations between two people."

"Exactly."

She pointed at him.

"But that still doesn't mean you're real."

"I didn't say I was."

"You suggested it."

"I suggested a possibility."

"That's basically the same thing."

He smiled again.

"You think very logically."

"Someone has to."

"Fair enough."

Mira looked at him carefully.

"You still haven't answered my question."

Instead of replying immediately, he looked up at the night sky.

The rooftop lights reflected faintly in his eyes.

Then he asked something unexpected.

"Do you remember the first dream?"

Mira thought for a moment.

"Yes."

"What did we talk about?"

"You said I looked confused."

"That sounds like me."

She frowned slightly.

"Why are you asking?"

"Because details matter."

"What kind of details?"

"Small ones."

He looked back at her.

"Sometimes the smallest details reveal the biggest truths."

Mira rolled her eyes slightly.

"You're being mysterious again."

"Maybe."

"Just answer the question."

"Alright."

He stepped a little closer to her.

The distance between them felt smaller than usual.

"You think I'm just something your mind created," he said calmly.

"That's the logical explanation."

"But what if your mind didn't create everything here?"

Mira frowned.

"What does that mean?"

Instead of answering directly, he said something strange.

"Look closely tonight."

"At what?"

"At the details."

"What details?"

"You'll see."

Mira sighed dramatically.

"You're impossible."

"Yet you keep returning."

"Don't start that again."

He chuckled softly.

They stood quietly for a moment, watching the city lights.

Then Mira suddenly noticed something.

A small detail she had never paid attention to before.

He was wearing a silver ring.

A simple one.

On his right hand.

She pointed at it.

"You never wore that before."

He glanced down briefly.

"This?"

"Yes."

"Maybe you never noticed."

Mira frowned.

"No."

"I definitely would have noticed."

He shrugged slightly.

"Maybe."

"What does it mean?"

"Nothing special."

"That sounds suspicious."

"You're analyzing details now."

"You told me to."

He smiled again.

"Good point."

The rooftop lights flickered softly again.

Mira groaned.

"Not again."

The dream was starting to fade.

But before everything disappeared, he said one more thing.

"Remember the ring."

Then the rooftop vanished.

Mira woke up suddenly.

Morning sunlight filled her room again.

She sat up slowly.

Her mind immediately replayed the last moment from the dream.

The silver ring.

"Why did he tell me to remember that?" she whispered.

She shook her head and started getting ready for the day.

Maybe it was just another random detail.

Dreams created strange images all the time.

Still… the ring felt oddly specific.

Later that afternoon, during lunch break at the office, Mira opened her phone and started scrolling through videos.

She wasn't looking for anything particular.

Just passing time.

Then suddenly a video caught her attention.

It was a short interview clip.

A famous Korean rapper she often listened to.

Mira paused the video absentmindedly.

But then her eyes froze on the screen.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Because on the rapper's hand…

There was a silver ring.

On the same finger.

The same simple design.

Exactly like the one she saw in the dream.

Mira stared at the screen in shock.

"That's impossible," she whispered.

Because she had never noticed that ring before.

Not in any photo.

Not in any video.

Yet somehow…

Her dream had shown it to her first.

Her heart began beating faster.

And a new question appeared in her mind.

A much more serious one.

If the dream could show her details she didn't even know yet…

Then what exactly was happening every night on that rooftop?
