The Omega moved back swiftly, scared by the sudden closeness and almost threw the contents of the tray to the ground but the Alpha caught him before the disaster could happen.
The Omega stared wide-eyed at him still startled and out of it, their faces just inches apart. He had almost jumped out of his skin without a provocation just because he leaned in, this upset the Alpha but he barely showed it and only managed a soft smile.
A knock distracted both of them and a maid walked inside with the doctor closely behind her.
"Good morning Alpha". The doctor greeted with his head slightly bowed, his eyes left the Alpha to the Omega beside the Alpha on the bed, but he was oblivious and returned all of his attention to the food.
The doctor was shocked and curious at the same time just like everyone that came in contact with the omega, it was clear as day that he wasn't alright but the shocking part was the attention the Alpha was giving to him and how relaxed he looked beside him. It was not a strange knowledge that the alpha in the past would rarely come close to an omega but he treated all of the pack's omegas well.
Most people had assumed that he had no interest in an omega and might end up taking an Alpha as mate which wasn't strange because some alpha prefers to get mated to alphas.
"I want you to attend to him, he has several wounds on his body and he is malnutritioned. I need him healthy as soon as possible"
Listening to the Alpha's instruction the doctor instructed the Omega to take off the robe, that made the Alpha frown and get worried but what happened next surprised him.
Without any resistance, the omega untied the knot at the front of the robe and pulled it off his shoulders. Showcasing his delicate shoulders and extremely white skin riddled with scars and wounds.
"And he also doesn't speak, what could be the problem?" The Alpha asked while watching the omega struggled to turn his back to the waiting doctor.
"He doesn't speak? But it seems he understands well". The doctor noted before moving close to check his wound.
The omega looked down at his hands, his hair falling over to cover his face making him look vulnerable and sad. The sight made the Alpha's heart tightened involuntarily and he reached over to hold his hands.
It was the first time he was touching him without a reason to do so, the Omega looked up at him with clear and innocent eyes. The purple colour makes him appear ethereal.
Their gaze met and held for a few minutes and it felt like time had stopped.
"I will have to clean his wounds and treat it, it will sting a little". The doctor's voice broke the spell that seemed to have surrounded them.
The Alpha nodded at him to start while his hold on the Omega hand tightened with reassurance.
The Omega glanced down at their entwined hands and barely reacted while the doctor worked in silence except for a sharp intake of breath he was very silent through everything.
The doctor was surprised and looked over at him a couple of times while he applied some ointment to the wounds.
The doctor left after he was done and Alpha Draven watched the Omega eat in total silence, he was waiting for the healer but not long after eating the omega laid down to sleep beside him curled up like a kitten.
He pulled covers over him and walked out of the room, he had pressing issues to attend to and most of it were concerning the Omega.
Out in the training grounds, almost all of the warriors were out training with their leader watching them.
Some were simply exercising while some paired up to fight with each other to test strength and weaknesses.
"Hold!, the Alpha is here". Vince's voice echoed loudly across the training grounds and every face turned to the Alpha that just arrived.
Compared to other packs that have warriors within two hundred to three hundred, Black Wolf Pack has almost a thousand warriors which is a lot compared to other packs.They are also very resilient and bold, which make the pack the only one with the smallest causality since the demons got on the realm.
Most of the warriors are considered very young within age thirty to Fifty since their life expectancy is high and the oldest of their kind to ever lived was up to five hundreds year before he died but that only applies to Alphas and betas, omegas have really low life expectancy and lives to be around two hundred at most which had contributed to their rapidly declining population.
"I will be sending five of you away in a few days, be prepared".
"It won't be for a while but for a long time—
"Alpha!" A voice bellowed suddenly and everyone snapped to the direction of one of the warriors on guard running towards the Alpha.
"We spotted a few demons moving in a group coming closer to the pack territory. We don't have enough men to hold them off at the guarding post.
He said everything in a rush and the men exchanged looks of worry, the news was alarming because it has never happened before that more than one demon crossed the portal and one thing was the answer, the portal was getting weaker.
"Is anyone injured?" Alpha Draven asked, his eyebrows pulling together.
"No, but we don't have time. The men might not be able to hold against the demons and it won't be good if they crossed into the pack's territory". The warriors explained and immediately Vince picked out men to assist those at the guarding post after the Alpha gave his permission.
The men left in a hurry, all of them shifting to their wolves and pounding through the woods without a break.
"Alpha, the seer is here to see you".
