The next morning, the Valentino mansion was quiet.
Too quiet.
Abi walked into the kitchen with a satisfied expression. She hummed softly while pouring herself a glass of juice.
Everything had gone exactly as she planned.
Hazel saw her in Luca's room.
Hazel walked away.
And now Luca would finally see that Hazel was too weak to handle their world.
Abi smiled to herself.
Perfect.
Just as she lifted the glass to her lips, a cold voice spoke behind her.
"Enjoying yourself?"
Abi slowly turned around.
Luca stood at the doorway.
His expression was dark.
Abi's smile softened.
"Good morning," she said sweetly.
Luca didn't move.
"Explain something to me."
Abi tilted her head slightly.
"What do you mean?"
"Why were you in my room last night?"
Abi placed the glass down carefully.
"I thought Hazel already told you."
"She told me what she saw," Luca replied.
His voice was calm but dangerous.
"But I want to hear your version."
Abi walked closer.
"I made a mistake," she said softly.
"What mistake?"
Abi lowered her eyes.
"I went to talk to you… we started drinking… and things just happened."
Luca stared at her.
"Interesting."
Abi looked up.
"Why?"
"Because I wasn't even home."
The words landed like a bomb.
Abi froze.
"What?"
Luca stepped closer.
"I left the house hours before Hazel arrived."
Abi's mind raced.
That wasn't supposed to happen.
"You must be mistaken," she said quickly.
Luca laughed coldly.
"I checked the security cameras this morning."
Abi felt her stomach tighten.
"You walked into my room alone."
Silence filled the kitchen.
For the first time, Abi didn't know what to say.
Luca's voice became sharper.
"You called Hazel."
Abi's lips parted slightly.
"You knew exactly what she would think."
Abi crossed her arms defensively.
"So what if I did?"
Luca's eyes hardened.
"You set her up."
Abi's expression twisted with anger.
"She deserves it!"
Her voice suddenly rose.
"You think she's perfect but she's not!"
Luca didn't react.
Abi stepped closer, her frustration boiling over.
"She's weak! She doesn't belong in your world!"
"That's not your decision," Luca said firmly.
Abi laughed bitterly.
"You're blind."
"No," Luca replied.
"I just see you clearly now."
The words hit her like a slap.
Abi's eyes filled with rage.
"I love you," she said suddenly.
The confession hung in the air.
"I've always loved you," she continued.
"And I'm not going to let Hazel take you away from me."
Luca looked at her calmly.
"You already lost."
Abi clenched her fists.
"This isn't over."
Luca turned toward the door.
"It is for me."
And with that, he walked away.
Abi stood alone in the kitchen.
Her chest rose and fell with anger.
For the first time since this began…
Her plan had failed.
But deep inside, something darker was beginning to grow.
If she couldn't defeat Hazel alone…
Then maybe it was time to bring someone else into the fight.
