Emily greeted Leo softly before leaving his cabin.
Leo sat there quietly, lost in thought.
"I wonder what's going on…" he murmured.
"This feels strange. I need to talk to Werren."
Just then, outside his cabin, Leo saw Werren walking with his assistant, Rayan.
"Werren," Leo called out. "I need to talk to you about Mr. Fred."
Werren stopped and told Rayan to leave.
"What is it?" Werren asked.
Leo spoke seriously,
"I heard from Emily that you met Mr. Fred yesterday and agreed to work with him. But we're already working with Seth… so why Mr. Fred?"
Werren's expression turned firm.
"Yes, I met him," he said.
"And I agreed to work with him because I don't trust Seth."
Leo looked surprised.
"Seth isn't someone we can rely on," Werren continued.
"That's why I asked Mr. Fred to help our company."
Leo hesitated.
"Does Father know about this?"
Werren shook his head.
"No. Not yet. I'll tell him later."
"I see…" Leo replied quietly.
At that moment, Rayan returned.
"Sir, Mr. Miles is calling you to his office."
Werren nodded.
"Alright. See you later, Leo."
"You too," Leo said.
Inside Mr. Miles' office—
"Dad, you called me?" Werren asked.
"Yes," Mr. Miles said.
"I need you to go and meet Seth and discuss our next project."
He handed him a file.
"Give him this. It contains the details of our new project."
Werren didn't take it.
"I'm sorry, Dad… but I can't do that," he said firmly.
Mr. Miles frowned.
"I know you don't like Seth," he said.
"But this attitude won't help the company."
Werren stayed silent.
"If you refuse," Mr. Miles continued, "I'll ask someone else."
"…You can go now."
Werren clenched his fists but said nothing. He left the office.
A few moments later, Mr. Miles called Leo.
"Leo, come in."
Leo entered.
"Yes, Father?"
Mr. Miles handed him the same file.
"We're working with Seth," he said.
"I need you to give him these project files."
Leo froze.
"…What?"
"Is something wrong?" Mr. Miles asked.
Leo hesitated.
He remembered what Werren had just said.
"What should I do…?" he thought.
"Take it," Mr. Miles said. "Seth must be waiting."
Mr. Miles looked at him carefully.
"Don't tell me you also have a problem with this?"
Leo quickly replied,
"No… it's not like that."
"Good," Mr. Miles said. "Now go."
Leo took the file and walked out.
Outside, Leo looked at the file in his hands.
"This doesn't feel right…" he thought.
"But I don't have a choice."
He got into his car and drove to Seth's company.
At Seth's office—
Seth smiled as he saw Leo.
"Well, well… Leo. I didn't expect you to come."
Leo said calmly,
"Father asked me to give you this."
Seth smirked.
"I thought Werren would come… but I guess he didn't."
He took the file.
"Still, it's good to see you here."
For a moment, Leo hesitated.
"Is this really the right thing to do…?" he thought.
"What's wrong?" Seth asked. "Give it to me."
Leo handed over the file.
"Here."
Seth smiled.
"It's an honor working with you, Leo."
They shook hands.
Leo felt uncomfortable.
Later, in his car—
"I don't know why… but being around Seth feels strange," Leo said to himself.
He suddenly slowed down.
"Did I do the right thing…?"
He felt uneasy.
But he drove back to the company anyway.
That evening, Leo returned home.
He sat on the couch, exhausted.
But his mind kept going back to Seth.
"This is all so confusing…" he whispered.
Later that night, Werren returned home.
"Is Leo home?" he asked his mother.
"Yes," she replied.
Werren went straight to Leo's room.
Knock. Knock.
"Come in," Leo said.
Werren entered.
"Leo, I need to talk to you."
"Yes… what is it?" Leo asked.
Werren looked serious.
"Did Dad give you the project files to hand over to Seth?"
Leo nodded slowly.
"…Yes."
Werren's expression darkened.
"Leo… do you even know what Seth is capable of?"
Leo frowned.
"What do you mean?"
Werren took a deep breath.
"What I'm about to tell you… is something important."
Leo listened carefully.
"Seth was involved in our company's downfall in the past," Werren said.
Leo froze.
"…What?"
"Yes," Werren continued.
"Our company was once in a terrible condition… and Seth was behind it."
Leo felt like the ground beneath him disappeared.
"Then… how did the company recover?" he asked.
Werren looked at him.
"Your father," he said.
"He was the one who brought this company back up."
Leo's eyes widened.
"…What?"
"That's why your father came here," Werren said.
"To save the company."
Leo stood there in shock.
"So… that's the truth…"
